I can't imagine it having those lines on the side..... Reminds me of Seat.

Will come at the end of 2016 (not 2018)
Will use same platform as next Tiguan
bigger wheels, more towing capacity, longer, wider, extended wheelbase.

Two 2L TDIs (190 and 224ps)
2L Turbo gas with 230ps
And plug-in hybrid drive train from the A3 e-tron

Nice Hofmeister.

Half sarcastic, but that last chop does look good.

Autozeitung is reporting that it is coming mid 2018
Same engines as Tiguan
150 PS 1,4-Liter-Vierzylinder-Turbo as a base
With the introduction of Q1, the Q3 will become a little bigger.

2018 Audi Q3 render points towards predictable design evolution
The next-generation Audi Q3 has been speculatively rendered ahead of an expected debut late 2017 or early 2018.

With the imminent arrival of the Q2, the Q3 will no longer be Audi’s smallest crossover on offer and most likely the new generation will bring an increase in size to distance the two. As a consequence, the model’s overall length will grow from the current 172.7 inches (4388 mm) to somewhere around 177 inches (4500 mm). Most of the stretch will be seen in the wheelbase that measures 102.4 inches (2603 mm) on the current Q3.

Despite what will be an increased footprint, Audi’s next Q3 will likely shed some weight taking into account it will ride on the second generation of the MQB platform. The design will likely be evolutionary rather than revolutionary, so perhaps it’s not that far-fetched to consider this render as a relatively accurate image of the real deal.

As far as the engine lineup, this will likely be very similar to the one Volkswagen offers for its new Tiguan. Hotter RS Q3 versions in both gasoline and diesel flavors are likely on the agenda as well, along with a more frugal plug-in hybrid derivative part of the e-tron family. Don’t expect these three to be available from day one, since the models will come later in the life cycle.

With a possible debut late 2017 / early 2018, spy shots of the new Q3 will probably start hitting the web in the second half of next year.

Introduced by Audi in 2011 and facelifted in 2014, the Audi Q3 is a pivotal model in the German automaker’s lineup. With the advent of the Q2 and the imminent arrival of the next-gen Audi Q5, the Q3 is also preparing to start again from square one.

Expected to debut in late 2017 for the 2018 model year, the next-gen Q3 has been spied for the first time by our talented team of carparazzi. It remains to be seen if the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will be the place of the unveiling, but then again, most German carmakers have a portfolio life cycle of 7 years.

Don’t be put off by the pre-production test mule featured in the following gallery. Even though it looks like it’s wearing a sack of potatoes on top, focus on what’s hiding underneath. The camouflage doesn’t let us focus on it to take all the visual details, but on the other hand, we can see that the Q3 has grown.

The current generation of the compact crossover measures 4.38 meters (172.7 inches) in length and 1.83 meters (72 inches) in width, making it larger than the Q2. As you can see from the side profile view of the spied mule, there’s room for improvement. This growth comes naturally because the future Q5 will grow in size and BMW X1 trumps the Audi Q3 facelift in terms of length (4.43 meters or 174.7 inches).

Under the skin, the 2018 Audi Q3 rides on the MQB platform. On the mechanical front, front-wheel-drive and a manual will be offered as standard. Quattro all-wheel-drive and an S tronic dual-clutch will be optional. As for the engine lineup, expect the Q3 to get an array of turbocharged mills with outputs ranging from 115 PS for the least powerful TDI to 367 PS or thereabout for the hell-bent for leather RS Q3 variant.

Since testing of the 2018 Audi Q3 has just started, we’re expecting to get more revealing pics soon enough.

With this front, the design of the Q3 would be a revolution. No.

Watching that the new Q5 is an evolution of the old model, this render could be a perfect example from the new Q3.

New Audi Q3 Spotted Hiding Evolutionary Design

Can't say that we are surprised.
Time files as already about six years have passed since the launch of the first Q3, so naturally Audi is currently gearing up to introduce a successor. While it may not look all that different, there are some major changes hiding underneath the familiar skin once you take into account the small luxury crossover will ditch the PQ35 platform used by the Golf V and switch to the VW Group’s flexible MQB.

We admit the quality of the spy photos is not exactly on a par with what you’re used to seeing, but even so these do allow us to take a good look at a prototype that seemed to have the production body and lights. Speaking of which, notice the halogen headlights that surely don’t do the Q3 any justice, but it goes without saying Audi will sell you its posh CUV with a full-LED setup if you’re going to be willing to fork out the money. We won’t be too surprised if in some markets even the base version will come with LEDs, or at least Xenons.

Set to go up against the likes of BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA, the next-gen Q3 should provide a considerably more spacious interior than the model is about to replace thanks to the new underpinnings. The hardware should also pay dividends in terms of the trunk’s capacity, thus making it a better companion on longer trips. Part of the roomier cabin will come as a result of an increased footprint via an elongated wheelbase, but even so we’re expecting Audi’s gym instructor to shave off a considerable amount of weight from its Q3 trainee.
Will the new Audi Q3 end up looking like a downsized Q5? We’ll have to wait until the camouflage will be entirely dropped, but that’s the feeling we are getting right now by looking at these spy images.

Expect the disguise to come off at a major auto show in 2018, with hotter SQ3 and RS Q3 models to land before the end of the decade. It’s important to mention that while the current generation is built by SEAT at its Martorell plant in Spain, the new one will be manufactured by Audi at the Győr factory in Hungary where the A3 and TT models are being assembled and also where the Q3’s sportier-looking sibling, the Q4, will be made starting 2019.

Spyshots: 2019 Audi Q3 Caught Alpine Testing Shows Sporty Sportback Design

The all-new Audi Q3 will make the old one look like a dinosaur. These are the crispest, more detailed photos we've ever shown you of the 2019 model year SUV, and they suggest a sporty shape, not one designed to appeal to dull people.

From the side, the 2019 Audi Q3 shows typical Sportback design - the rear is not straight like a hatch or regular SUV. Instead, the rear windshield has a pronounced rake that ends with a crip spoiler-like trunk element.

The front is also sporty, and surprisingly quite similar to the e-tron quattro we've seen in the past few days. The grille takes the shape of an octagon and is connected to headlights that have a kink at the bottom, like the A3 facelift and A4. The air intakes are large and probably belong to the S-line trim, based on how low the suspension is.

A longer wheelbase and wider tracks will give the Q3 the same grown-up ride as the Tiguan. Of course, adaptive dampers will also help.

Anyway, the new A3 will reap the full benefits of being based on the MQB platform. It's got one of those gigantic sunroofs like you see on the Leon and Golf wagons, and radar cruise control system and probably the digitized cabin. The GLA and X1 are definitely in trouble in that department.

As far as the engines are concerned, expect to see only one 3-cylinder turbo, the base 1.0 TFSI. Most of the customers will opt for the higher-output mills, like the 2.0 TDI. And since the small Q2 crossover goes up to 190 HP, we expect the Q3 to have the twin-turbo version with 240 HP and the 230 HP mill from the Golf GTI. That last one is important as a direct competitor to the U.S.-spec X1 xDrive28i.

We also understand that there will be a pure EV version, using the same powertrain as the VW e-Golf. But it probably won't draw the same kind of attention as a 400 horsepower RS Q3.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
