Reviews 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ and E 63 S 4MATIC+ Reviews

Performance and benchmarks aside, what is evident IMO is how well designed the AMG parts are. The car looks way better than the C63. The from bumper in particular is the best design in the segment since the E60 M5 (the F10 M% front end comes close as well).

The interior looks superb too. It is quite clear the piano black central console cheapens the looks of the interior, which looks way better when this piece is from the same material than the trim of the rest of the interior.

So yep, one of the best improvements to a regular MB that AMG has performed.

I guess I do deserves all the heat I'm getting from the MB Stans for posting about the M5 here, but thats how confident I am about the BenchM5ark , it's going to tear the new E63s from limb to limb.

So I'll refrain my posting about the benchM5ark until it arrives. Apologies to the admin. Enjoy the little hype the E63s is getting its going to be very short lived as was the E klasse.

Spotted the new E63 4Matic+ entering into Aston Martin today. Wondering what they are up to with it?!

From Autocar this week... not very good from a dynamic point of view. Eagerly waiting for other UK or Continental reviews.

Autocar's take is completely at odds with the other reviews posted in this thread so far. I find it hard to believe AMG would release a car as poorly sorted as they claim it to be.

Autocar have comparison with RS7, M6 and Lexus in the latest issue. Plus bunch of pages about AMG.
The capture I published is from this. They compare from noise point of view to Lexus, performance to RS7 and handling to M6. Will try to post the rest later, I haven't read everything, just focused on handling page because I was "surprised" by the conclusion.

I guess they shouldn't have tested handling against an M6...... :D

Review on Piston Heads here.
Still same comment than Autocar on harshness of suspensions :
Being in the UK means dealing with UK roads though, and here the E63 doesn't perform quite as faultlessly. Despite a multitude of modes for the air suspension, the ride really is rather firm at lower speeds. Indeed the suspension modes were tried only to find them way too stiff and comfort mode reinstated PDQ. Anything beyond that makes the car agitated and fidgety on bumpier tarmac, a point not helped by the car's sheer size. Though urban and rural roads are not the environments the E63 is designed for, to find it as awkward as it is does come as rather a surprise.

On wider, faster, better surfaced roads, the E63 feels absolutely supreme though. It cruises with aplomb, much more comfortable and with the engine ticking along at less than 2,000rpm. There's more noise than in something like an E220d, but that's to be expected with 265- and 295-section tyres here.

All that matters!

That front end is so menacing on that car especially in the darker colours. What an awesome machine this E63 S is.
