The merc looks more imposing and they have the rear offsets spot on. It's a huge shame about the interior though..

So for me i prefer the exterior of the GLE combined with the interior of the X6.

GLE has the better exterior for me by a small margin. X6 has the better interior by a considerable margin. In the end, I'm going to stick to my principles and vote "don't care" as I still feel that these are most pointless kinds of cars.

I voted X6, simply because I love the chassis and cabin and yes I am a BMW guy. That said the side and rear profile of the Benz looks way better.

Notice, however that front-on the BMW appears wider and more imposing - the Merc has a taller, narrower look about it from dead-on front view. I voted for the Merc but, introspectively, I am pretty sure that the BMW is the more complete product.

Lekker to see you online again my friend. :)

Based on the photos I would have to say the X6, but I would like to see the GLE in person first.

I agree, the BMW face is imposingly beautiful. Just that when you look carefully at both cars rear 1/4 view the roles in design has been turned around. The new X6 has a typical Mercedes-Benz think CLS-type (heavy) shoulder over the rear wheels, whilst the GLE has a more BMW-like sporty rear in the same angle of view. Both the new gen. X5 and X6 has lost a bit of their low-slung, imposing yet elegant shoulders and that really bothers me. Some may argue that it makes both vehicles look "lighter" but IMO it makes them look soft and "narrow"from the side and rear view. Also the X6 looks narrow from behind because of the akward-large and not so elegant rear lights. Both previous generation cars had a much more macho design - all IMO, that said they are more complete cars and most probably the best in their respective classes. The HVAC controls in the GLE is really yesterdays news...WT? M-B!?

This thread is like a beauty contest in which only fat 40yo ladies are allowed.

The only interesting pic is that blue X6 M.

One thing I don't like about the X6 styling is that it looks under tyred, even the X6 M has huge gaps between tyres and wheelarches!

Agreed, cut down on the wheel wells and that will make it look even fatter. The X6 has a lot of meat over the rear wheels especially. The wedge shape contributes to that. ( A sporty reasonable tire size does not help hide it`s vertical mass. The GLE also has a good deal of mass to but the anti-wedge profile and elongated 3/4 window cuts down the fat over the rear wheels.
