F1 2016 Formula 1 Season

Immortal.

3rd.

He's got a big future ahead of him. I have yet to warm up to him but he did that drive as if he was driving in cheat mode with 100% grip. It's a shame he didn't managed to close in on Hamilton.

Big congratulations to Lewis for breaking his Brazilian duck! Interlagos has never been a straight forward race for him but he's now finally won on the circuit!

Lewis was faultless. Which is also very excellent I must say, with these conditions. Max was on another level though.

Max's drive was one of the best in recent formula 1 years. Best moment? Vettel bleating like a lamb "he pushed me off the track". :hilarious: Lemon Lips.

Lewis drove a flawless race out at the front though. He makes wet weather driving look easy.

All in all, the race was made spectacular by just one man - a very young one at that - Max Verstappen. From last to third in little more than a dozen laps. That's pretty darn special. Sure he had a fresh set of tyres advantage but it's about putting them to use and that's exactly what he did and then some.

First of all amazing drive by MAX, im so damn angry at RB for that shit strategy of inter tires.
He would have easily held rosberg behind him, and we might had seen 2 rain kings LH and MV battle it out..

I don't think he would be able to win the race, but alteast he would put some distance between LH and ROS for the last race.

ROS drove like a total coward, was not interest one bit to engage in a battle with anyone. I think he was shitting himself just not to put his car in the wall, he is notorious for being a nervous rain driver.

As it stands now if LH wins yas marina ROS only needs to get in at 3rd.

On a f#cking desert track, perfect conditions year around, wide nice track with huge zones and barriers miles away.. the only thing one can hope for is a failure in the car due to heat..

Or possibly both RB's rising to get between LH and ROS..

Chances are very slim, this was the race where it had to happen, but it didn't, and i guess in that sense ROS was very sucessful.

It just bugs the F out of me, that the obviously faster driver due to bad luck with realibility won't be the champion.. its almost like trump winning with less actual votes.

But hey i guess its the way the game goes.

PS
Still isn't over until the fat lady sings.

Yaz Marina is an engine circuit. Red Bull won't stand a chance and neither will any other team. Either Lewis or Rosberg can start from the pits and still finish second thanks to the two DRS zones.

Only a mechanical failure during the race or a mistake by Rosberg in the final 15 laps will give Lewis a chance at winning the title.

Although Lewis suffered a blown engine this season, the real cost has come from her botched starts. They have cost him dearly.

This was the standout moment of (what I've bothered to watch of) this season.

a) MV hits wall: exuberance and inexperience of youth.
b) MV pulls off the save of the year: boy wonder.

For Interlagos 2016, the fact is simply, b)

I can lay claim to having watched one F1 race this year and it was worth every bloody minute of SC.

In a negative way, yes.

We had a race to follow, and they were filming him for ages. Crazy. Nobody cares about talentless Massa.

Plenty of people care about Massa enough to enjoy seeing that moment of respect and emotion, rather than yet more footage of the cars going round under safety car.

Don't forget this is the same home crowd that saw him cross the line as world champion in 2008, only to have it taken away moments later... that's a big deal in Brazil, and personally, it's the only time I recall standing on my coffee table shouting at the TV with excitement whilst watching a Formula 1 race.

It's also nice to see respect being paid by former teams.

There is too much bullsh*t in F1, it's got so much wrong with it, and suffers more than any other motorsport with fair-weather fans and glory supporters, politics, scandals, stupid regulations, money, business and loads of other crap... it's nice to see a genuine moment of emotion that links the home crowd, with their driver and multiple competing teams down the pitlane. Far better than seeing a podium getting boo-ed because the whiny little bitch boys in Silver we're having a squabble.

No politics allowed on this forum, not even that I am afraid.

As for bad luck and reliability, it is part of the sport. It has happened before and it will continue to happen in the future. Remember how Ferrari messed up Massa's pit stop at the 2008 Singapore GP, that error cost him the drivers championship, and guess who benefited from that? Lewis.

LOL!! That was quite a moment, no doubt about it.

This guy is indeed a talent. Only the car he will drive will stop him from winning the world championship.

Let's see how the RB drives in 2017. The current one is still a fantastic car, as was demonstrated yesterday.
