I realize these are very different vehicles, but please bear with me. I am an Audi guy. I have had a 2008 S5 and 2010 Q7 and currently a 2012 A7 and 2013 Q7. With 94K miles on the A7 and the 100k extended warranty near end, it is time to replace that car. I have been waiting with bated breathe for months to hear a release date for the TT RS. Internet sources suggested it would be shown at the Geneva Motor Show (several weeks ago) with availability soon after. With Geneva coming and going and no TT RS, I lost faith that the car would be released before Quarter 4 of 2016 and began looking for alternatives. The front runner alternative is the Porsche Macan (likely GTS but possibly Turbo). Without going into too much of my personal background, each fills my needs well. I will say I am a surgeon living in the north east with many hills so I need AWD for snow at all hours and frequently before the plows are out- My wife drives the Q7 so I can't rely on it in the winter, but my experience with the S5 in snow was great. In addition, they are quick with good handling (personal preference). Each offers benefits over the other but those differences are pretty much a wash in my mind. So, I guess the question is: If you could have either which would you choose and why? I would really appreciate every thought anyone might have except one. Don't tell me the Macan is better because it is a Porsche. Yes, I know Porsche has a a great history and "status", and are great cars, but I don't buy cars for status, rather enjoyment. If you want to give me reasons to prefer the Porsche that are responsible for that history and status, that's great, but I would buy a Chevy Cruze over a Bugatti if "I liked it more" (even if I could afford the Bugatti). BTW I am not nuts, the Bugatti is much cooler than the Cruze (LOL hahaha). Now that I hear the TT RS may be shown in NYC's Auto show later this month I am in a slight pickle. TT RS or Macan. Help me out guys!
