Uffff... Lovely (except for the color).

Nice chop...except that horrible color. It's like a cross between dookie-brown and old-folks gold. LOL

Klier, don`t be bad with me I could hit "like" button so many times in this thread, because I liked what others have to say. If I go back at many pages I can hit the"like" button but not because I want to achieve great numbers of likes at this thread, this will be because I really find useful, and I like comments. Now back to the official date. Somebody said earlier in this thread that 15 December is the official day of the revealing. Read about 10 pages back or something like this, and you`ll find that information.

Don't mind Klier, he's just upset that it has more Likes than some BMW Thread probably. :D :D

Exactly. It was just a lighthearted remark, and nothing serious. And you use the 'like' button for the exact purpose it ws meant for :)
Too bad we have that little kid K-A who turns every post I make in some BMW vs MB argument, but never mind that. He doesn't know better ;)

The duel between Klier and K-A is so funny in all the threads. I am as well a MB fan but I apreciate the other automakers fans. Bmw and Audi are good brands as well.

I think their conversations about those 2 magnificent automakers are funny. We`re different persons, probably the reason for their"fight" is pathetic because we must understand that we all humans are different, and the fact that everybody has an opinion about something and that opinion can be different from mine one. I love MB, really love but when it came to the fans I try to understand the one who loves Bmw, and the one who loves Audi, and the one who loves Porsche and the list can go on. Now let`s wait hopefully for the new Sl.

The new SL is beginning to appear as the most precisely, mostly "crisply" penned Mercedes-Benz in quite a long time. I personally can only applaud that. IMHO, it evokes memories of that Bruno Sacco masterpiece know as the R129 SL of 1989-2001.

I'm still not a fan of that retracting hardtop, with its' highly visible shut lines. Much prefer the "old fogey, traditional" soft top configuration. Or something like that novel new fabric covered retractable hardtop featured on the new Porsche 911 (991) Cabriolet. That looks so cool. I'm also thinking that a fixed-head coupe version of the new SL would be quite enticing...

Fixed roof SL would be HOT!

I'm not a Convertible fan, so buying an SL would be such a waste of money for me, as all that massive extra weight and money factor (paying for all the engineering gone into the Convertible aspect) all revolved around the Convertible aspect, especially the retractable Hardtop. If I had an SL I'd probably always have the roof up, thus making it somewhat of a waste of a purchase. A fixed roof, thus more solid, less heavy, better looking (no crazy shutlines everywhere, and maybe a chance to give the boot a less "super long" impression) SL would be great to me. However, that would be like a HUGE blasphemy factor to the history and dignity of the SL, at the same time, so I can understand why if it weren't a Convertible, it would be some bastardized "not really an SL" type of situation.

I don't see why not actually, MB has a rich history with these kinds of cars, just look at the recent SLS coupe and SLS roadster. Same could be done with the new SL, I find it a great idea to make a real fixed hardtop version too. And not just an SL with fixed roof, but a unique shape like Z4 coupe/roadster or SLS coupe/roadster...
