Lexus GS 350 F Sport Supercharged: 375 PS

I prefer this over most of the turbocharged engines. Would love such one in an IS 350 F Sport.

GS F
U.S Trademark Application No. 85877105 filed March 15, 2013 for "Automobiles and structural parts thereof".

BMW M5, Mercedes E AMG, Audi RS6 and Jaguar XFR and the up-coming Maserati Ghibli GTS are getting a new competitor: the Lexus GS-F.

The engine? 4.6l V8 (1UR-FSE) Biturbo making 565 PS. Well that is my guess.

I think it will be a supercharged version of the IS-F 5.0 Liter V8 putting out close to 560 - 570 HP.

The supercharged engine is the 3.5l V6 (2GR-FSE). It makes 380 PS in the latest version. The 4.6l V8 (1UR-GSE) is twin-turbocharged and makes 565 PS in the latest version. It is made by TRD. The supercharged by Modelista, but it uses TOM'S supercharger, just rebadged. But these engines are only sold in Japan in the Toyota Crown or Mark X. I would guess the 650 PS TMG engine is based on that 4.6l V8 Biturbo by TRD.

This guy should really be getting a fee from the dealers for this.

2016 Lexus GS F spied up close, could have 500 bhp

The Lexus GS F is inching closer to production as our spies have managed to snap new pictures of the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG competitor.

Caught undergoing testing in Europe, the GS F has an aggressive front fascia with a prominent spindle grille and large air intakes. Additional changes are limited but the car has lightweight alloy wheels, a rear diffuser and a distinctive four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Power will be likely be provided by a 5.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 467 bhp (348 kW) and 389 lb-ft (526 Nm) of torque in the RC F but speculation has suggested the engine could be tuned to approximately 500 bhp (373 kW) and 400 lb-ft (541 Nm) of torque in the GS F. It will likely be connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which could enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 170 mph (273 km/h).

Leave it to Lexus to be the last car to join this class and to have a naturually aspirated V8. You could argue that they're behind and the concept is outdated, but I actually like it. The GS has a great interior, but the GS350 didn't drive all that well, but this version should fix that problem.

The problem is it's going to be short on power among its competitor while weighing the same as them. Needs a minimum of 575hp to play with the big boys, IMO.

2016 Lexus GS facelift arrives at Pebble Beach with new 200t rear-wheel drive version

200t has a 2.0-liter turbo with 241 bhp
Lexus has introduced the GS facelift at Pebble Beach where it shares the spotlight with the 2016 LX 570.

The biggest news is the addition of a 200t rear-wheel drive version with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine also seen in the RC 200t and NX 200t. It pumps out 241 bhp (180 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque and works exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission granting the vehicle with an estimated fuel efficiency of 33 mpg US (39.6 mpg UK or 7.1 liters / 100 km) on the highway.

This new member joins the existing GS 350 which soldiers on with a V6 3.5-liter which for the 2016 model year has gained an extra 5 bhp (4 kW) and 3 lb-ft (4 Nm) for a grand total of 311 bhp (232 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) channeled to the same eight-speed auto.

The GS 450h continues to use the same hybridized V6 3.5-liter with 338 bhp (252 kW) transferred to the road via a CVT. This hardware setup enables the model to perform the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 5.6 seconds and return an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city / 34 mpg highway / 31 mpg combined cycle.

In terms of styling changes, the 2016 Lexus GS facelift has a modified front end with a more aggressive spindle grille and bi-LED headlights along with updated taillights and some rear bumper tweaks. Other novelties include standard navigation for GS 350 and GS 450 h models, a bigger 4.2-inch instrument cluster display and a 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system which now has side "enter" buttons on the remote touch interface.

Also new for the 2016MY are several exterior and interior colors, wheel designs, wood and aluminum cabin trims and a Lexus Safety System + that packs Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam (IHB) and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

This brand has lost the north with the front end designs. Each new one looks worse than the one that came before.
