TT 2013 Audi TT Spy Pics & Info

Not pretending to screw your usual "Audi better than BMW" story. But a BMW being destroyed by an Audi in the performance department is quite hmmm... Optimistic?

I'm not siding with either BMW or Audi but it depends on how you define "performance".

I mean acceleration figures both outright and in-gear. If Audi achieve their goal of 1200kg for the basic car that should translate to around 1325kg for the TTRS, that combined with a possible 380hp will mean bye bye M2 and possibly M4 as well.

So what? Does anyone that buys this kind of cars care about the straight line performance? The TT should start for being interesting to drive. And that is something even the RS Audis have fail to do.

Neither I or you can comment on how the next TT will drive because it ain't here yet but we do have some clues as to how it might behave with the S3 and most reviews have been favorable. So dropping the weight should heighten its abilities further.

I'm taking a stab in the dark but I reckon the next TT will be a major improvement over the outgoing model, whether its good enough to out shine the M2 is debatable but I reckon its performance will be more than enough to keep 99% of people grinning.

Going to be interesting how this car turns out. Perhaps the first car from Audi with some of the new design language for the Sports Car Family. Q7 after I suspect for SUV Family despite the redisgn slowing things up.

Someone pointed out on a different website that the interior shot is not the interior of the TT test mule as the wing mirrors do not have the psychedelic rap covering them. So this is probably just a shot of an S3 although you cannot see any badging on the steering wheel (covered by hand and arm) or dash.

I don't know if it is TT.. but definitely it's not A3. Look at the door handles. They are different in the A3.

There's definite A1 and A3 styling clues present here but its different to both, its subtlety different but different none the less. I can only assume this is indeed the TT interior and frankly I'm underwhelmed considering how different the Mk2 was to the then A3.

Could be RS3. Apparently being tested with no cammo dressed as S3

The A3 door panel has metal trim beside the door handle, it's not present in the photo so unless the RS3 has a different door panel design which I doubt this isn't an RS3.

Those lights would work better on the new A5. They are too pedestrian for the TT.

I don't want to see them on any Audi. They just don't fit in with the design language. Leave those types of lights for BMW.

Spied: Watch 2015 Audi TT Testing Alongside Peugeot RCZ, BMW Z4

At a first glance, all taped-up in a psychedelic theme, you could mistake it for the current Audi TT, but this is in fact the all-new, third generation version of Ingolstadt's sports model that will be available once again in both coupe and roadster trims.
We've seen scoop photos of the car before, but this time, our spies took out their cameras and recorded a video of the car while it was running some hot laps on the Nürburgring as well as outside the track, where it was spotted testing against rivals, including a BMW Z4 and Peugeot's RCZ.

Expected to undergo a significant weight loss, mainly thanks to the adoption of the VW Group's MQB platform shared with many other models, including the VW Golf and Audi A3, the 2015 TT will be offered with the newer EA888 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines, possibly equipped with Audi's fuel-saving cylinder deactivation technology.

Europe will also get at least one diesel option, while the range will be topped off by an RS model featuring a tweaked version of Audi's current 2.5-liter inline-five.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
