B-Class (W246) 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class (Spy pics & info)

The W246 is the second generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class. It is the successor to the B-Class W245 and predecessor to the B-Class W247. Production: November 2011 – December 2018. Model years: 2012–2018.
Front loooks way way better then the current B i think its actually a cool car for its market like a mini R class i think the moms will love this car ...Also the small famalies with low budget wanting a Mercedes it will be a nice option..Hope the interior is good and drives nice.

photoshoot in LA? The ML has a California plate and camera crane? ;)

The oval fuel filler flap is probably for electric/gasoline or diesel/AdBlue or hydrogen?

:t-cheers:

I like it a lot! It does look like a "van", but it looks great!

Nice..looks neat..
but i would never buy a car in this segment:)

It's certainly nice for what it is. Front actually looks good....still not feeling that lower character line.

I mean who at Mercedes-Benz thinks that random lines all over the place looks good? Its stupid looking, overstyled and just random. Makes no damn sense. S-Class is going to be yucked up with this same nonsense, watch and see. I hope at least the SL comes out like the SLK, the body is too small to put those stupid lines on it.

I just can't believe those lines make it past Q.C. What is is supposed to be anyway? Like some weirdly angled jawbone? The car looks unfinished and haphazard with it. I love (being sarcastic) how it just starts at some random point on the fuel filler door, not even harmoniously connecting to any point that ties the look of the car together (like taillight, decklid, wheel arch etc.).

I swear, if M-B brings the B-Class to the States, they have dug their grave.

Someone from MB needs to explain those weird lines. To me, they appear to be completely random.

Indeed. The W212 gave us a bit of a shock, but it settled into something understandable, then the CLS took it further.... Still not something I could fully wrap my head around, but fine, it's such a nice car, and I can figure out what they're going for, to an extent. Now, these new cars are just taking it to ridiculous extremes. Stop while you're ahead M-B! The lines have crossed the "line" into nonsensical hilarity.

But the concept of Mercedes having such a category of vehicle is equally hilarious, so the wacky line is actually appropriate for the B. Here's hoping it's a big fat fail where it counts... in sales. Then we don't have to see Mercedes stoop this low again.

They took it far with the CLS, but I remember designer Hubert Lee explaining what the lines stand for. He said we're basically seeing a crouching cheetah with the line above the rear wheel arch. And the characterline was suppoused to make it lean backwards I think, to make it look fancy (like jewelry).

However, I can't see the lines on this one really mimic anything but randomness. If it only had the upper line I'd go "okay, may turn out right", but it's trying to be so much more.

God, I hope they don't mess up the new S with the same lines!

^ Yes Hubert explained that, but side lines on the new CLS are well known from model such as Type 300 from 1959 :) (my favorite thing from Mercedes-Benz, Heritage :)) Upcoming S-Class will have this type of side lines

I know I will be very happy with it because I like this style from Benz :) so damn elegant!:D
As for the new B-Class...'Beauty is in the eye of the observer', like the every damn car in the world and the 'B' will find its own 'observers' there is no need for explanations...I am one of them :D OK guys, just relax, this is my DPO (damn personal opinion) lol

I really like this, one of the strongest front end designs from Mercedes for a while, very well resolved.

I don't see an issue with the lines because it would look bland without them!

If the only thing that is to be complained about the B Class is the lines, its a success.
