Yes that is what I believe will be. I think the new C coupe will be positioned below the C class and will be cheaper. The best indicator is that it will probably have not frameless windows. The C coupe must be differentiated as much as possible from the E coupe. It actually will be no coupe at all (a proper coupe must have frameless windows and be without the B-pillar). It will be a two-door without frameless windows. The reason is that the E coupe is quite expenssive eventhough it is mostly a C class. So you would have two coupes coming from the same car. The C coupe will really be the succesor to the CLC and as such must undercut both the BMW 3 coupe and Audi A5. Merc will offer two possibilities, one cheaper and one more expensive than their competitors. One will be a sedan with two doors and the other a proper coupe. That is also why it will not have the 6,2 AMG but only 5,5 V8.

I get your point, but I still don't think it will be that much cheaper. It is MB after all.

I think it will be more expensive than 1 series BMW. It will be just a little bit under the competition (3 series coupe and A5) and will be much more expensive than the CLC (CLC was 10,000 EUR under the C class). It should be acctually a direct competition against the 3 series and A5 but on the other hand can not compete against the E coupe.
Mercedes got itself alone into this kind of trouble, I think bad planning must have been the culprit (succeded CLK with E coupe, but still rather a C coupe and still produce the uncompetitive CLC based on the last generation C class). I think that with the new generation C class the coupe will have frameless windows and the E coupe will be discontinued or the next generation will be actually based entirely on the E class. I see no problem having E coupe and CLS being based on the same platform. They are different cars, the CLS being more expensive and more plush.

I think, from what I could see in the pics, that it has frameless doors. Could be wrong though, but from what I saw the windows are not framed at the top.

However it has a B-pillar, which is in itself not bad (as the pillarless-coupes are quite rare if we exclude MB and the very high-end category).

I think it looks very nice, despite the ugly color, mismatched painted parts and rims. I prefer it to the E-Coupe already.

As for the kink... it's very far from looking like BMW's. Not every way of ending a side window is a Hofmeister kink.

What is so important about frameless doors? Looks cool when the door is open, but that is about it. I don't why such a big deal is being made about it. On the other hand, I wouldn't touch a coupe with out B pillar with a 10 foot pole.

No, but even an MB becomes much more heavy without a B pillar. B pillar saves extra weight, and I think that's way more important than the look of having no B pillar...

Again, just to stress, a B-Pillar is ideal on a Coupe, but frameless doors are a MUST for any Coupe above a Chevy Cobalt. Just like framed doors are a must for any proper Sedan.
