Vs Motor Trend: 2012 Audi A7 vs 2011 Jaguar XJ vs 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550

I was trying to be polite about my observations but I can't imagine anyone interested in driving a sport sedan that would be enamored by the current E's steering.

That's because the E is a Luxury Sedan, not a Sport Sedan, and proudly so (it's why I bought it :D). Not your fault for the confusion, as M-B is seemingly confused with how to market the car themselves. I personally think that it strikes an almost perfect balance, in being a Luxury Sedan at soul, with some slight sporty flair to accompany it at heart (at least with the AMG Package).

As for the Article, the "the horrifically named 'four-door coupe'" line made me chuckle.... Shame on M-B for creating such tomfoolery of a name (and for such a brilliant marketing name, that we now have to live with it and watch the copy-cats flock in and whore the name out so our ears can't rest).

.... And man, do they love the XJ's looks. Is it really that nice? I would love to love it, I really would, for the same reason that I've been trying to come around to the Panamera lately, but I just can't do it! I just see flaws and odd/unsightly profiles/shapes/architecture when I see them, namely the hefty and bloated "Ford" like look of the XJ. Being someone who likes to stay so safe and timeless with car designs, it's no wonder that I keep buying E-Classes.

And I agree about the Audi's power. For "Just" 300-ish HP, the thing flies. It feels more like 350+ HP.

"Steering feel" has become a catch all phrase to describe the many facets of a good steering - accuracy, feedback, weight/boost, immediacy. A good example from my own experience is my wife's Subaru's steering is generally more accurate than my M3s, but it is so overboosted and lacks feedback, it is not fun except in sweeping curves where you can carve an accurate line (as long as you don't push the car). Even that is not a simple list, for example, weight could be awesome at slow speeds and suck at higher speeds or feed back could be great on certain roads and be bad on others.

flawless interior, just flawless!
One of the many strong points of the new CLS.
It`s very close to it`s big brother the S-Class.
