F1 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix

I think the last time it was back in 2001 with Mika Hakkinen, Michael Schumacher and Jacque Villenurve. But only Schumacher was still on top of his game, the others have faded. I think this year is the only year with more than half the drivers on the grid who has won a race.

Next year it will be Force India 1-2 every race with Super Aguri coming back to take 3 and 4 every race. Ferrari will come in 9 and 10, McLaren and BMW will fight for 5-6-7 and 8.

"Hmmm... I'm actually being moderate about showing my hatred for them. "

Me too, I even feel kind of sorry for Massa and his family... ok I am over that. Go Hamilton!

As I see it, Hamilton didn't "win" anything yesterday. He had the championship - which he was losing - handed to him by the most extraordinary stroke of luck. I still can't believe that actually happened.

How was he losing the championship..? What happened in Japan, beyond the first corner fiasco, wasn't his fault. Otherwise he'd been driving incredibly well.

It wasn't so much a stroke of luck as an inevitable consequence. Glock could only have kept position if he had had enough grip under his tires. He didn't have enough, ran slow and wide, and Hamilton got 5th. If Glock had pitted, Hamilton would have passed him, and he would have ended up in 5th place again. Either way it seems Hamilton wasn't going to be finishing 6th.

Yesterday was a holding strategy for McLaren: nothing too daring or dangerous, just keep position and don't get into trouble.

They did well in that regard :)

OMGGGGGGGGGGG that was one of the toughest races ive ever seen,,,, WOW last corner of the last lap of the last race of the championship!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAAAAAAAAAAAA i was getting sooo mad i was about to kill my self !!!! but when i saw hamilton pass glock, i screamed and everyone at home woke up :D lol... WOOOOHOOOOO ... congratulations u r the MAN!!! fia can cheat but they sure cant stop hamilton from winning the world championship!!! again congratulations to Hamilton

There is no need to feel sorry for Massa at all, Hamilton should've been over 10 points ahead of Massa if he wasn't given those ridiculous penalties in the past races.

i'm just glad the season is over. too much politics, it's really sickening. i'm looking forward for next year, with less involment of the stewards, and a fair title race. Forza!

I couldn't have said it better myself. The stewards have had too much influence and on top of the several tracks are on the course of being sacked while Max want to standardise engines and what not. Politically it has been an awful season. For the first time I actually look forward to a break.

By that logic without 2 engine failures and a major pit-stop blunder Massa would have easily won the World Championship.

Hamilton received penalties for incidents involving the Ferrari boys witch where doubtful/dubious but received no penalties for ram-ing into Alonso and choping Webber witch where obviously clear. That's FIA consistency for you.

Ofcourse this still wasn't as controversial as Prost chopping Senna in 1989 and Senna crashing into Prost in 1990, in witch both times the guilty driver was awarded the WDC.

Those days were a bit uglier. The only hard on action between the title contenders this year was when Massa chopped Hamilton in Japan. Other than that both drivers have driven along side each other with respect.

No, Hamilton didn't "win" the race yesteraday.....he wasn't even that great at all yesterday and his car wasn't good enough to keep up with the front runners.......but he managed to grab enough points to get the job done.

As I said earlier, I think Ferrari had the faster car this year, but both the Ferrari team and Massa made some mistakes at critical times in some races which costed them the title. Simply put, Lewis won the Championship because he was more consistent in finishing high in the points in most races.

Now hold on a second, F1 is a TEAM sport if the team ***** up that is their problem. Ferrari's blunders were all on them where as Hamilton's penalties were pure manipulation by the FIA and were EXTREMELY questionable.

Hamilton never chopped Webber in fact it was Webber that made the steering input that gave contact to both cars, and unfortunatly the FIA took it down from youtube before I could link it.

Hey, why no mention of Massa punting Hamilton out in Japan and Bourdais getting a penalty for when Massa chopped him from the outside??? Or how about how dangerous Ferrari have been in the pits all year long. And don't forget the Massa passing Webber using the pit lane, that could have been a fatality if someone were exiting at the time.

yes, it has been very stressful for me. lots of time i agreed and disagreed with the stewards decision. for example, France, and Canada, i think the stewards were right to penalize Hammi, and also, IMHO, Spa as well.

however, stupid decisions, like how they awarded Massa that point in Japan was questionable. it was stupid, and silly. i think the FIA has always been writing the scripts. remember 1994? when Schumi had such a big lead in the WDC, and he got banned for 2 races for that black flag incident? that brought the championship with 1 point down to the wire.

i believe last year was pretty much scripted too. i mean, how can Hammi be rather 'stupid' to beach his car in the pitlane, and press the ctrl+alt+delete button in Brazil last year? or how Mclaren screwed up his strategy in Brazil last year. it just didn't seem right for Hammi or Alonso to be champion in a car that copied Ferrari's stuff.

anyways, i think this season has been great in terms of diff winners. i believe the future is seriously Vettel.

i also want to apologize to any members here if i did indeed offend anybody with my comments during the season. 146 days i think left for Aussie 2009. Forza!

I am pretty sick and tired of people complaining about Ferrari manipulating FIA's decisions. All the other teams seems to accept this fact and did nothing, I don't see the rest of the teams unite together and clear this issue once and for all. Aren't there enough evidence to prove the FIA is biased towards Ferrari, and can't the teams do something about this at all?

Can someone explain to me how Ferrari can manage to form a close relationship with the FIA, and the other teams can't?

As for Hamilton vs Webber, even Martin Brundle said Hamilton was a bit harsh on Mark.

Juventus fans asked the same thing.. how can Juventus have such a close relationship with Lega Calcio..

Juventus and Ferrari.. ran by same ppl..:)

Yea I think we should just lay this season to rest. I personally think that some of the penalties on Hamilton were deserved (I've only been watching F1 for a few years, but I think if anyone pulled those kinds of stunts, they would get penalized), although the one on Bourdais was baffling. So either way, Hamilton should have had a bigger advantage.

Imo, Vettel has been the most impressive. He schooled Hamilton in the last few laps and almost broke McL's heart again. You absolutely cannot argue against that. Hamilton had the whole season on the line and Vettel just walked over him... in a red bull "B" team (the way they raced, they were the A team). I kind of wished we kept him instead of Nick, but we'll see what happens next season.

I hope it's a bit closer to between the all the manufacturer's. Can't wait to see the new technologies at work.

Errr... Mclaren ordered Hami not to squabble with Vettel in those laps and that Glock would fall off. No need for risks
