F1 2007 Hungarian GP

^^That is a usual "Damage Control" Statement. Of course, they're not going to admit that their cash cow has acted in a bad manner.

Does anyone seriously expect any team to come out and say, "We can confirm that (driver name) used multiple profane words include the "F" word."

I don't know any sane person who would instantly believe that the confrontation was suddenly just a media creation.

What is Mr. Integrity going to say? Hasn't he lost enough face over his driver wars? Mr. Integrity isn't exactly going to admit, "Yes, the driver that my Team of Utmost Integrity has backed since he was 13 is an ungrateful sod who slagged me off with a bunch of F-bombs!"

I still think Hamilton acted out of line by disrespecting his boss. Even Eddie Irvine slammed him, the same Eddie Irvine who got a knuckle sandwich from Senna. When Eddie Irvine say you're out of line, he probably has considerable experience to make that judgment.

Hamilton denies being at 'war' with Alonso - Planet-F1 News - from planet-f1.com

claims he and McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso are "at war".

Hamilton stated after his Hungarian Grand Prix victory on Sunday that Alonso was no longer speaking to him following a qualifying controversy.

The 22-year-old initially refused to let Alonso by at the start of the final 15-minute qualifying period, despite instructions to do so on several occasions over the team radio.

Alonso retaliated by later deliberately impeding Hamilton in the pitlane, preventing him from setting another hot lap.

Although the reigning double world champion qualified on pole, he was demoted to sixth following an investigation by race stewards.

The two drivers were then involved in a bitter disagreement as to who was in the right and wrong after qualifying, with their feud degenerating into silence.

Hamilton, however, now claims he and Alonso are again on speaking terms, with plans to clear the air further before the next race in Turkey in just over a fortnight's time.

"For the record, Fernando and I are fiercely competitive and respectful of each other," said Hamilton.

"We are both ambitious drivers who want to win. However, we are not drivers at war, as has been widely reported.

"Although we did not speak on Sunday, we have spoken since the weekend and continue to have a professional working relationship.

"In fact, Fernando and I plan to meet up over the holiday period."

Hamilton and McLaren have also made it clear there was no 'f-word' bust-up over the radio with team boss Ron Dennis at the end of the qualifying session.

McLaren insist they have investigated the matter, reviewing radio transmissions, and "can categorically confirm Lewis did not use the 'f-word' at any time during any conversation with the team."

Hamilton added: "As an individual in my first year in Formula One I have done my utmost to conduct myself in a professional and open manner.

"Of course I have made mistakes, not least during last weekend, and those are open to public scrutiny.

"I have my own regrets and have dealt with matters arising.

"However, it is disappointing inflammatory and untrue material is given to the media and published which may damage reputations.

"This inflammatory material is then commentated on by many others as if it is factual.

"Whilst I wouldn't normally communicate through press statements, I felt it important to set this matter straight."

I see, a bit of damage limitation. I think he is just making it worse by trying to make it sound less serious than it really is.

Whatever the press spin is, I wonder what repercussions there were related to the incident. Specifically, I'm curious to know if Mr. Integrity had the cojones to strictly discipline his protege.

Aside from the F-word shouting match that now did not exist, there was another allegation in two separate papers that a certain man in the pit lane asked officials if a driver can launch a protest against his own team and constructor. That is some of the most bizarre stuff I have ever read.
