911 (997) 2006 Porsche 911 Turbo spy pics and info

The Porsche 997 is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car. Predecessor: Porsche 911 (996). Successor: Porsche 911 (991). Production: 2004–2013.
That pic looks like a production car headed towards a dealership for delivery. Is it surely the 911 Turbo?

Yeah the huge white sticker on the roof might suggest that, but the camo tape on the rear lights, black rims and the air vents in the bumper tell me that this is a TT prototype. If only I could see the profile of this car, that would tell me for sure if this is a wannabe or if it is the Turbo for real.

i know what you mean, but its just close, but not to certain...

Yeh, that car is beautiful.... Really like that they dont shift far from the original look. Keeps its fashion.

This is a 997TT, not a 997 exclusive w/ the aero kit. How do you know? Well, take a look at the wheels, whale tail, and the exhuast that come through the bumper, any keen Porsche phile, especially one that has been following the development of this car, knows for sure that this is a 997TT.

Yeah, the wheels are the same as on some other 997 Turbo spy pics. Exhaust, spoiler, as Stuttgarter said.

I like it, it looks mean and powerful, even from this angle. I hope they improve the quality of the rear bumper though - you can see from the reflections that it's not very straight where it's meant to be. I don't like the wheels that much either, but that can easily be changed.

And is that blue foam cylinder on the door going to make it to production? :D

that blue foam on the door and the while plastic on the roof means that the car came off the assembly line which signals that the 997 Turbo has moved from one-off test cars into full production cars. It's official debut must be near. It's supposed to hit showrooms in Germany June 2006, i believe. F430 beware.

I think that the blue foam and the white sticker on the roof is a part of the camo to fool people it is just a ordinary Porsche on it's way to a dealer.

I wonder what Ascariss would say? Is he ever going to join up here? Sure do miss his insight and knowledge.

That said, this car looks like it's still wearing a fair amount of disguise but it does appear to be a Turbo, especially given that variable geometry split wing rear spoiler. Maybe a publicity shot a la Audi Q7 approach? :t-hands:

I dunno.

Wow the camo isn't very discret but hey it's a 911 turbo and creating a discret mule isn't that easy.

This thing looks promising, couple of stuff I kinda dislike about the front bumper but hey Im not complaining :) Its a 911 Turbo :D

I actually like the rims, very cool as to how this car is coming up! I really want to see it already in person.
