5 Series BMW 5 Series (G30/31/32) Spy Pics & Info Discussion

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon (marketed as "Touring"). A 5-door fastback (marketed as "Gran Turismo") was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.
Nice. The headlights are a mix between the F10 and 2-Series coupe.

I'm surprised they didn't update the door controls. They look a bit cost conscious compared with the G11 derived center console.

I love the headlight design and the interior feels more interesting than 7er. Not a huge fan of the steering wheel in this example. Can't wait for engine stats..

Where is @Ali8Asad ? He must be the most excited person in the world to see this!
In a state of catatonia...probably. :D
If he doesn't reply in 24 hours, I think someone needs to check on him just to make sure he's alright and conscious. ;)

At least it has much better looking pedals than G11 which look like they came from base 1 series...

M-pack vs. non M-pack

I was a bit concerned with how big the rear taillights might look, but it looks better than I'd expected.

Id like to see more , but so far the exterior is a winner would love to see it in darker colours the interior is meh and I much prefer the steering in the 7er.

What are you all's opinion on the double shoulder line?
It must be immensely complicated to produce it - all those alignments on all those elements have to be perfect - so I respect the achievement.

But this car doesn't do anything for me, unlike the F10. F10 was probably too good, and set the bar (too) high for it's successor.

Ofc, this is BMW. One needs some time to pass, before design starts to work for him/her. Hopefully, this will be the case with this G30 as well.

I like the headlights but is it my imagination or does the headlight units seem bigger than the previous generation? Definitely not thinner from what I see.

Impressions based from these shots:

1. Rear: Something is wrong with those rear lights, there is to much dead space in the rear light, the elements that light up show that it could have been a much more slimmer designed light unit.
Also the bootlid looks amazingly short somehow, which again makes the lights look huge. Im very sad about this, if anything has been great with recent BMWs its the rears, the 7er has a tremendous behind. this does not. And those exhaust tips are a joke.

2. Side profile: I cant judge it, but due to the short rear it might look unbalanced, that side line is hard to judge in this color to, it just looks like it ends or starts out of no where.
And that damn hockey stick is there again. In a lighter form.

3. Front, the head lights seem to have a to pronounced brow, might look good when they are on, off it looks wierd. Is this the M package btw? Weak in that case.
What bothers me the most is the part of the bumper that goes from the inside of the headlight to the other, looks like the grill sits on a shelf.

4. Interior, its the same old story, this will be old yesterday, the competition looks way more advanced, its sad really.

Overall ile reserve my final judgement for better pictures, its a mighly booring looking car though inside and out, remember that this seems fairly high spec to.
I want to say that it atleast isn't ugly, well its not.. but due to the huge rearlights and little real estate in the rear it looks awkward.

Then again I disslike the headlights on the E class strongly to.. so 1-1 in that sense. But the E has a shit load more going on for itself over this 5er.. no doubt.

Let's see what audi comes up with.

It will drive like a beauty though..
