I've always been more into elegant, darker, glossy metallic tones on 911's. Or various shades of gunmetal or the vintage "Fischsilber" hues.

Problem with Jet black, that approximately 80% of all 911s are jet black, in the summer you can see them everywhere.

I think a GT3 touring should have a color which is a little bit special.

The GT silver is nice as well BTW, this color is timeless.

Black 911s are not common in SA. Black cars in general aren't because of the perception of black cars and hot climates.
I don't know if this is the case in Queensland.

Gentian blue is great but the best colour on a 911 I've seen is a dark metallic purple on an S/T. Heck - it was special.

Thank you @martinbo, @Swissbob, @Design FIRST for your feedback.

I do agree with Martin, that the Touring benefits from classier more subdued colours and non black rims. I can't bring myself to keep the chrome surrounds though, and prefer a blacked out look on the vehicle.

I do love Gentian Blue, but I have maintenance concerns and think it actually looks a bit flashier than Oak at times. I'm also not sure if I want a metallic blue 911 long term.

I was having a look at the GT3's on the market here, and most are Jet Black with a few silver and whites. Oak Green has been popular on orders now, but with gold wheels.

At the moment I think I'm set on this specification with black callipers and a Cohiba Brown Interior

When I was playing around on the Aussie configurator, it appeared to me that the foldable bucket seats are only available in black. Do I understand this right?

I still love the "Fischsilber" alternatives.

Porsche's 1970's "Eisgrün" ("Ice Green") is one of those particular hues. I know, doesn't comply with @Mr. Mercedes brief, as I believe that it is a PTS paint. Still absolutely gorgeous IMHO.

Here on a mid-1970's Carrera 3.0 G-Type:

It would look absolutely splendid on the 992.2 GT3 Touring Package. With the black or silver sideglass trim...both would "work".

Topping this off could be approaching Porsche's Sonderwunsch department in order to request the "Heritage Sport Classic Fuchs-Style" rims with a center lock.

Of course, this also would not comply with @Mr. Mercedes's brief and cost somewhere in the vicinity of 12K Euros minimum extra. But hey, if one is shopping for a new 992.2 GT3 Touring Package, the necessary coin will be there.

That is correct.

This car is intended more as a tourer than a track car though, so Ive opted for more comfort and havent specified the bucket seats and lightweight package, even though I would like the Magnesium wheels.

Nothing custom will be possible I dont think. Let's see how it unfolds. I've been advised I should receive the allocation within the next month.

It seems Porsche AG may be re-allocating production to markets where sales are still strong and prices high, hence more Tourings being available on the Australian market.

Who knows. The world of vehicle build allocation is nefarious.

Pehaps im being strung along and the dealership is simply hoping for more cars to sell.

I actually received a phone call today confirming my allocation which is extremely exciting!

After a few hours o of thought, (Just a few lol), here are my final two selections.

Oak Green Neo and Gold are out. Oak Green Neo has made up to 35 percent of 992.2 GT3 Touring sales here. And Gold wheels are ultimately a bit too flashy for me to drive regularly.

The Jet Black option is a more classic take on the 911. It should look pretty stunning, but I've had a lot of black cars in the past and a number of brown interiors. Black is also a pretty popular colour on Tourings here.

The Ice Grey metallic options is a bit more of a modern take on the 911. It's also a pretty rare colour and should be a breeze to maintain.

In terms of interiors for the Ice Grey, I'm a bit torn. We've had a few red interiors over the years but Bordeaux seems to work very well and is always a classic. An alternative interior to the red could be Darknight Blue. It's a bit of a braver choice. Would love your specific thoughts on this.

Please:
1. Pick a colour combination
- Jet Black Metallic & Cohiba Brown
- Ice Grey Metallic & Bordeaux Red
- Ice Grey Metallic & Darknight B

2. Yes or no on the carbon mirrors and roof. The roof obviously has weight saving benefits. I have specified the carbon brakes, but have not opted for the lightweight package as it's too compromised for regular use IMO.

3. Yes or no to the Porsche Stripe. I think it's a slightly more youthful take on a 'Touring' and in both cases very subtle. With PPF over the top it will also look and feel a custom paint.

4. Yes or no to the GT Silver seatbelts. I like the contrast in both cases.
