Next issue will feature this years Evo CotY (Car of the Year).

Any predictions on contestants and possible winners?

probably a porsche again, gt3 RS or the new GT2?

EDIT: or Scuderia

Im thinking cars like the Audi R8 which has been given lots of praise from the Evo crew. The new Clio R27 will be there, I'm sure. BMW M3.

I'm not really sure how the nominations are made, is it cars of model year 2007 only or is it cars that was made available for testing during 2007?

My prediction

1. R8
2. GT3RS
3. 599GTB & F430 Scuderia tied
4. M3

R8 i belive.. its been winning alot of these lately:D

And the contenders are:

Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series
Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Mini Cooper Works
Honda Civic Type-R (the Japanese market car, of course)
Audi R8
BMW M3
Lotus 2-Eleven
Vauxhall VXR8
Nissan 350Z
Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Aston Martin DBS.

Ok , then its between GT3 and Scuderia.

My prediction:

1. Ferrari 430 Scuderia
2. Porsche 911 GT3 RS
3. Audi R8
4. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
5. Aston Martin DBS.
6. BMW M3
7. Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series
8. Honda Civic Type-R
9. Mini Cooper Works
10. Lotus 2-Eleven
11. Vauxhall VXR8
12. Nissan 350Z

:D

I'm pretty much with you on this.
However, it is hard to tell how much they will judge by track performance. Im guessing by the line up that it will have substansial impact.

Is'nt there another award from Evo? RA (Road and track) Coty?

I see that some people have mentioned the CLK BS. I'm afraid it won't be top 3. It's a bit over weight and on the edge of overpriced in relation to it's performance.

Yes, I think you are right. But that does'nt stop me from loving that car! So great! On the other hand I would love a CLK 63 cabrio...

^ Mine's in the mail already! ;)

Andreas I think your prediction is spot on - and possibly the one I'd go for. However, just to make things interesting I'm going to mix it up a with my own reasons chucked in for fun.

1. Porsche 911 GT3 RS (Porsche will hate them for choosing a Ferrari for a second year in a row)
2. Ferrari 430 Scuderia (Maybe, just maybe a little too track focused for the road?)
3. Audi R8 (Great - but lacking a little in all-out punch stakes?)
4. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (Yup - that's about right coz it's not their favourite Lambo)
5. BMW M3 (Adjustability and overall composure we see it do well)
6. Honda Civic Type-R (the world's best front driver?)
7. Aston Martin DBS. (harder suspension may place it as low as this...?)
8. Nissan 350Z (The new one is great)
9. Mini Cooper Works (too much torque steer not enough value over standard S)
10. Lotus 2-Eleven (been there, done that...)
11. Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series (Too heavy, too brutal, too expensive - lacking in ultimate precision I'm guessing)
12. Vauxhall VXR8 (big Aussie out of its depth in this classy field)

And finally by far the most beautiful car in this competition and the world IMO:
