I have favourite cars, not favourite badges. I have favourite cars in various segments from all 3 of these brands so I wouldn't pick one brand over the other (without at least being told a particular segment).

And even though I am not an Audi fan at all, I think it is the only brand where I do not completly dislike a car.

I voted for MB. I love all this 3 top german brands, but MB stands out as the first IMO. I love their engines although somehow I feel that MB is always a step backwards to Bmw with the exception at the high end engines amg vs m. At exterior design I have no doubt, I think MB designers are the best of the best. " No guts,no glory" seems to be their motto as they are adventorous,they have the courage to risk, to try to innovate, to create something really new,really revolutionary. They are not following those safety routes of the design. Maybe not all of their designs are perfect, or catchy, or beautiful but they separated very very well their cars. They gave each car his own personality, his own charm. Audi cars look very nice when compared to Bmw and to Mercedes, but they lack personality, they look boring. They look alike too much, they must differentiate their cars much on the next generations. At Bmw, some cars look really hot (F10 5er, 6er, F30 3er looks ok) but some of them are too damn horrible (F01 7er, F20 if I am right 1er). Exactly when you can say they are on a good path, exactly then BMW shows an ugly car. Speaking of innovations, I believe MB is number one when it comes to safety. Technically Bmw seems to be number one now, they innovate a lot of driving systems, but the MBs S class is the most innovative car in the world and will be a technologically tour de force in May. From the image point of view I put MB in the first place because it was the first car brand, it has tradition, 127 years of history, it is the most legendary car brand with many legendary cars such as 300 SL Gullwing, Merc 600, W123 E aka Cobra, W126 and every generation of the S clasz wich is the pinnacle of automotive industry. Bmw comes in second as a more classical rival for MB, and Audi on 3 because 20years ago nobody would choose Audi over an MB or Bmw. But I have to say that today you wouldn't do wrong by picking any of these 3 manufacturers. Audi is now on the same level with the other 2 producers, so all these 3 car producers are great now. Interior design seems a little bit dated too me at MB but their interiors look very very classic and elegant. Bmw uses too much the same interior on too much cars, I think the 5er,7er, X5,X6 almost look the same at interior. The 6er also look almost like those mentioned already but it kinda looks superior too them, seems more special. Same story with the 1er and 3er. Audi interiors look great, A8 is my personal favourite interior along with the Panamera. A6,A7 also look gorgeous at the interior. Their interiors are the most modern looking among these 3 brands. The look very fresh, very futuristic with these 3 interiors (A6,A7 and A8). So generally my top 3 is this : 1.MB 2.BMW 3.Audi PS: Sorry for my bad english.

MHO.

Engines: 1.BMW 2.Audi 3.MB - BMW probably build the best engines in the world, probably.
Technical innovations. 1.Audi 2.MB 3.BMW - I like the Audis innovations..
Safety innovations: MB/Audi/BMW - Hmm, I don't really care about the safety, just kidding, but for me all those build safety car. They all are winners.
Styling: 1.Audi 2.BMW 3.MB - All the way Audi. Sometime I wonder they all(Audi, BMW, MB) looks the same.

Amount of truly great drivers cars: 1.BMW 2.Audi/MB - BMW - The Ultimate Driving Machine, damn.
Interior design and quality: 1.Audi 2.MB 3.BMW - Damn, I like Audis Interior and desing a lot. And it's have probably best quality also.
Operating system ( Latest iterations ): Audi/BMW/MB - I don't know.
Amount of cars produced worthy of being called the best in the world: 1.MB 2.BMW 3.Audi - Damn, but true.
Most Ethical/ Environmentally friendly: Audi/BMW/MB - All of them, all are the winners.

Sometimes I hate Audi, because it has promising so many times some models comes into production, but NO. Same about specs by Audi. But mostly I love Audi, and I like BMW and Merc

This is too difficult!

I'm am all for BMW's "The ultimate driving machine", and their M5 flagship will always be the ultimate automotive flagship. However I can't support some of their current designs, and imo their current line-up does not represent their fullest potential.

M-B has a much stronger line-up as a manufacturer right now, but they still can't match the full potential that BMW has imo.

Consistency vs. potential, I can't decide.
Or maybe... Today, it's Mercedes Benz!

Like Ace said, I like specific models... give me a R8 with manual over anything the other two makes for a weekend trip through a mountain pass. A M3 to liven my otherwise drab daily existence. And a S class to comfort my bones when it starts creaking more...
















ps. Or you can get a 911 and be done .

Still Mercedes, but only slightly so and it's only because of all the new product coming. BMW is the styling leader for me right now, and Audi gets the most improved award.
