2) How do they decide which design is their final one - do they vote?
3) What is the design teams' response to people saying that BMW is making giant nostrils to make strides in the Chinese market but making the rest of the world succumb to the polarizing design?
4) Ask the designer to walk you through the scene where they first unveil the giant nostrils to the BMW board and their reactions.

5) What are they inhaling that needs such big nostrils?
6) Must be obviously some really good shit, so can they pass it along?

The "bold" strategy a bit controversial and very daring would seem to be the right formula, because it worked in the past, the new CEO and his "sell more than Mercedes or die trying" it fits perfectly, since immediately it started "The Bangle era", BMW outperformed Mercedes for the first time in about 100 years taking the one spot, which it retained for 10 years, that achievement was also accompanied by an offensive of models and creation of new niches that pay the rent until today, so it doesn't surprise me this very happy decision.

I hope that this time they do not become self-conscious and lie back, letting themselves be overwhelmed by the comments on the Internet as they did at that time, since it is now known that the internet is not what it seems

I now believe that after this is toned down for production, i.e. keeping the shape but lessening some of the details like the size of the grille, this car will be stunner. I have reversed my position on it. This is what BMW needs and I don’t see it being a repeat of the ugly as sin cars of the Bangle era that required constant bs and excuses from all the apologists. The shape alone on this concept is fire and if the play it right they will have a segment bursting car easily.

Well we’ve heard from an insider here that the grille is not getting smaller.

My opinion and expectations for the production model haven’t changed. This car will have presence and look great with the exception of the front end. After looking at the concept 8-series vs. the production model I don’t have a good feeling about what I’m going to see.

Hmm. With Karim Habib as a chief designer I don't think they would need to copy any other's brand design.

Nah, the new one compliments the sharp design. The old rounded one would look more out of place. Not to mention we’ve seen the old one enough now, time for some change.

Am I too crazy or there is really some distant similarity between the front of the 4 concept and the one of the Bugatti Chiron. Maybe the designer was looking for some inspiration there.

The "horizontal dotted bars" graphics inside the new 4er grille is M Performance graphics. As seen on other BMW Mxx models.

M models will feature full horizontal double-bars.

Core models will feature full vertical single-bars.

i models will feature single-kidney w/o central separator, with filled solid space - tilled inwards @ the top & @ the bottom, with...

Don't know where you're getting that from, but you are definitely very good informed...

I will do a breakdown soon of what becomes production like I did with the 8 Concept. Again like THE 8 Concept we are at 85% at the production car.
Bet you can't wait for the renders that are about to waterfall in the press.

THE 4 follows the same ideas in regards how the Aero Packet becomes more subtle, same outline but less dramatic.
The kidney grille stays however. But do you like the concept's wheel design?
