E-Class (W124) Why? ? ? [Do I like the W124 so much?]

kinda funny.

I can't end my love for the W124, I want to find other cars but I'm unable to. even if its known as a taxi around the world.

There is definitely nothing wrong with you because W124 is the most timeless bodyshape of all Mercedes models of all time.

I am of the personal viewpoint that the W124 is quite feasibly the single best car model ever made. It was an enormously significant and successful model. Whether you bought a 230E or up through to a 500E I reckon that you had best car any money could buy in the day...

This car defined an era for Mercedes and luxury cars in general. Perfect size, shape and it was the sweetest driving Mercedes too. The 500E is still my all-time favorite Mercedes-Benz. Nothing short of the R129 compares. The only sedan better at the time was the W126.

The W124 defines timeless and classic all those words. Elegance and the 400E and particularly the 500E put some edge to it all.

The intention with this thread wasn't about the w124 just happens to be the car I can't get away from. I guess I could a posted this in a general forum ... Do you have any car that you can't get away from? can be the 911, ferrari any make. Im curious if you have this "problem" I want to branch out but the W124 is my fave. Haven't found a second fave although the F355 is up there.

I guess my "problem" would be that I can't get away from the Benz brand.

I detested the W212 so much, and have some questions regarding how M-B is handling themselves these days in certain ways, yet I don't want to drive anything else. And no matter how much I convince myself I hated the design initially from them, I ended up falling in love with it for its strong points, or at least changed my views due to the politics of being an Owner.

And the W124 is a legend.

Ok I see....

For me it would be the W124, R129 Benzes. The 993 Series 911, another end of an era, timeless car from a historic brand. Air-cooled, classic proportions and shape. The Ferrari 575M, and F355 Spider for me too, the last era before now when Ferraris were truly beautiful. Add the 456M in their also.


What else....let me think on this one...............
