E-Class (W124) Mercedes-Benz W124 turns 30!


The Mercedes-Benz W124 is a range of executive cars made by Daimler-Benz from 1984 to 1997. From 1993, the 124 series was officially marketed as the E-Class. The W124 followed the 123 series from 1984 and was succeeded by the W210 E-Class (saloons, estates, rolling chassis) after 1995, and the C208 CLK-Class (coupés, and cabriolets) in 1997.

I would collect these. Mercedes still uses this same seat pattern today. How wonderful is that.

This 300D Turbo exterior and interior colour spec is perfect for the W124. This car is the best Mercedes mid sized saloon ever in my opinion. I definitely want to buy one in the next few years, either a 300E or E320. Sublime cars.

My opinion as well. Despite the W124 having had it's "teething problems" during the first year or so of series production. But following the fall 1989 MOPF, the cars with the "Sacco Planks", it was very close to flawless. Mercedes-Benz AG (then Daimler-Benz AG) was a vastly different company back then and much of what transpired afterwards was not always commendable. And featured a number of truly "basket case" vehicles with significant flaws.
 
It's so good it almost makes me cry looking at pics of this car.........

Gosh I wish it was 1994 again.
