The sales numbers for the U.S. will be published today. I bet BMW and Mercedes had a FIRE month! There are new BMWs and MBs everywhere.

C, E, GLK, ML, G, SLK, all posted double digit gains. S is dying off until Sept 25 when the W222 arrives. CLA arrives same week in Sept. E-Class should have been bigger gain considering the 2014s are everywhere now.

Audi will get a big push this spring and fall with the A3 and Q3 respectively. Audi and Cadillac will be the ones to watch this year in the U.S. It will still be either MB or BMW at #1, and Lexus at #3, but that 4th spot is up for grabs IMO. Either Cadillac or Audi I bet.

I'm guessing BMW will hit 1.65 million.

The entire sales differential between Audi and Mercedes is accounted for by the Chinese market and it's no surprise to see MB still in 3rd. They also have major supply constrains on A's, CLA's, GLA's, E's, ML's and S's which they are working towards overcoming. But the fact that they did not have the money to invest in production capacity, and rather had to concentrate on product development, is costing them. The reign of Schremp continues to haunt them to this day. That bastard!:p

Haha, my post is old? We're barely a week into 2014 and it's already old? LOL

You know what thread we're in or what? We don't even know BMW numbers yet so if anything, my post is premature :D
Funny stuff. I hope MB ends 3rd place in 2014 too. That would be a good year!

You trolling Merc and Audi fans is certainly old!

BMW will sell the most cars out the big 3 in 2013, that is old news too.

Haha sensitive bunch around here. I hardly ever troll and when I do it is lighthearted nonsense like this retarded race for who sells the most cars. This whole thread is stupid to begin with. It's not for car fans it is for bean counters and shareholders.

And BMW "winning" never gets old, remember that next time.

Globally:

BMW -
Audi - 1,575,500
MB - 1,461,680 (not sure if that includes Sprinter, but it doesn't include Smart)

Couldn't find BMW's numbers???

BMW Group 2013 global sales figures will be published on Monday, Jan 13th.
By Nov 2013 BMW brand has sold 1.5 million vehicles already, so total 2013 figure will be around 1.65 million vehicles sold.
Will get the exact number on Monday.

It is very likely that BMW will top 2013, however 2014 or 2015 I think will be the year Audi becomes number 1.

Congrats to BMW... once again :)

PS: Audi is too far behind to catch up on BMW in just a couple of years... even impossible with the UKL.

That will not happen, BMW boys are not going to be dead or asleep, 2014 2 series coupe and mini van activity whatever (GT) - 4 series coupe and cabriolet full year, and GC, full year X5, X3 facelift, M3, M4, i3 and i8 full year.
I think there is enough to increase another 100,000 / 150,000 cars, and the whole group probably reached 2,000,000.
AUDI only with the A3 saloon........................no way, true and the new Audi / VW up!

I think Mercedes has more growth options because finally have a strategy of new and attractive models, besides being so low, they only go up

The biggest markets for BMW are the US and China. BMW is behind Audi in China and the gap in the US is narrowing quite fast. Last year we saw BMW lose that number 1 crown to Mercedes in the US and I don't think it is a fluke.
In terms of products, the difference between BMW's products and the competitions is not that much or in some cases non existence. I think it is going to be sooner than what most people think for Audi to become the global leader.
Maybe 2020 but definitely not 2015. It's just 2 years.

Audi still isn't even close to BMW in the U.S. so saying they're closing the gap quite fast is somewhat false hype.
