as a german car fan I am really interested in MB future. Some people are saying that the company is gonna get bankrupt :crying6cc specially with the current sales figures (i.e: even though with the release of new car Model like the CLS,R and ML the company still in the dark-side ) and imo if the company get bankrupt I'd rather a german company to buy it.
so what do you think........?
(I am interested of what you are thinking of :1zhelp: )

MB will most definately make a come back, will it return to where it once was? Probably, especially w/ Dieter Zetsche as the head of MB car group, but it goes without saying that it won't be what it use to.

Well Mercedes isn't going to go bankrupt that is for sure. They still have billions in the bank in case something truly awful happens.

As bad a shape as GM and Ford are in they aren't going to go bankrupt, and DCX is in better shape than either one of them.

Judging by the latest third quarter reports MB's turnaround has already begun to start - baby steps that they may be.

Lastly I can't see the German government letting Mercedes be bought by a non-German company. If anything they'd proably try to seperate Chrysler from Mercedes, but since Chrysler is earning more money that isn't likely to happen either.

Germany isn't England. England sat and watched all their proud and glorious nameplates die and/or be bought by German and American companies and did nothing. Now the Chinese even have a piece of their once proud auto industry.

Mercedes-Benz is not going to go bankrupt any time soon. Over the past few years many commentators seem to have taken great delight in watching the most prestigous name in the German auto industry, struggle to maintain it's image and position. Probably no other auto-maker in the world has quite the same level of expectations to live up to. Rightly or wrongly, Mercedes is internationally recognized as a symbol of peerless quality and reliability.

Mercedes gets bankrupt!? OH,no! it must be the biggest joke i've ever heard.NEVER! :eusa_doh:

LOL if MB goes bankrupt.. the car industry will slow down to half speed..in terms of techonlogy .. that will not happen.. atleast not while we are alive..

Mb going bakrupt? Not i a million years mate. Just becasue their sales have declining it doesn't mean they will decline to zero. :t-crazy2:

I wouldn't lose sleep. Best case scenario is they lower the pricing of the cars to pick up some sales, and make some money on moving quantity! They are by far not in bad shape!

I hope :eusa_pray

Noo, I doubt something like this would happen. They still have fat savings accounts and a little tweaking on their infrastructure would probably bring them back to speed... Unfortunately this takes time, and assuming things don't change drastically in the near future, world economy wise, it will take them probably 5-10 years to get back on their feet asuuming they do the right things... Now that Dieter is on top of things, he may go for drastic changes that may accelerate MBs recuperation into a healthy company.

As for buying or hostile takeovers, I doubt it, but since anything is possible and just to theorize about it, it would most likely remain a german company, BMW and Porsche are in very good shape......... If they would let an international company buy them, I bet Toyota would be dying to buy DaimlerChrysler... then they wouldn't need to copy them anymore... :D
