Which company makes the most appealing car keys ?

Porsche's key is indeed also awesome. BMW's key is too "plastic" cheap feeling.

"TIMELESS" means "timeless". Always will look good, a design that stands on its own REGARDLESS of time, purposefully not fashionable, but always stylish. The M-B Star symbol, for example, is timeless, never needs updating, transcends time, etc. When something is eligible to be an "instant classic" it is timeless, IMO.

You can never be sure about timeless things unless you can see in the future :)
And then again... even if it's timeless it doesn mean it's not ugly as hell :)

This ruins all the shape of the key. It looks like an afterthought, and is not as well integrated as the Prosche. Plastic also needs to be gloss. It is so depressing to have the timeless SLS with the outdated key of the cheap A Class.

A lot of people prefer flat plastic as it generally gives a more high quality finish and touch, but results can vary.

The A Class shares a lot with upper end M-B's, which is another issue all together. More low priced products sharing the same parts and languages as the higher priced cars = bad for higher priced car business.

Boy oh boy. The new Kia Venga that we bought, has the same key-type that my A4 got in 2001... :( Audi, you better give us some amazing design in your keys!

The key design was developed jointly between Mercedes-Benz in Japan and Swarovski in Austria – specifically to suit Japanese lifestyle and fashion tastes. The long sides are both set with crystals, with a choice of pink or black available. The keys are individually and meticulously hand-crafted by Swarovski. This elegant lifestyle and fashion accessory is available to Mercedes-Benz customers in addition to the two standard keys at an additional cost of 367 euros. Following the pilot phase in Japan, it will be checked if the project could be extended to other markets.

It looks awesome but I didn't find it as good as either the Audi or BMW to use when opening or closing the car.

???

They all have three buttons in the same order. What makes the difference when using ?

actually Mercedes was the first with the card key which was released with the w220 then was cancelled with the face-lift or even before that I am not sure about the time of cancellation. and the w220 was released in 1999(2000US)

Good to know. They should offer it as an option. The Lexus card-key also is optional.

the panic button is no longer there.
in my own experience with MB keys, the feel is exquisite, styling is trendy but understated.
i have a problem with the placement of the buttons though, usually need a couple second to find out which button to press on

Maybe currently BMW keys are the best to look at, but ur mind suddenly changes when u hold them and use them.

I would say Mercedes Benz keys are the most practical and best in quality.

I am really disappointed with Porsche keys, they are large and annoying in the pocket, and everytime I try to lock my car, by mistake I click the trunk button.

The buttons took more of a press to get it to open and close, might have been just my keys though.

Oh and plus one MoSs about mistaking the button you are pressing.
