When the police can't drive (scraped my car)

I just came back from the repairers and the news wasn't good, I didn't pick up my car because the repair was unacceptable.

Even more bad news, the insurance company refuse to pay for the malfunctioned parking sensor because there isn't any superficial damage...:t-banghea. The repairer said they fixed it by themselves..

The paint job was ok, they missed a tiny spot along the edge, but the real annoying news is that the rear bumper alignment is even worse than when the car was hit :t-banghea. I have no idea how they think they can get away with it, so I dragged them over to my car, and told them what they needed to hear and they said they will fix it up by tomorrow, and they better do......I might need your help Tycoon.

Man i'm so sorry to hear that, the worst thing about having an accident is having to deal with repairs and insurance huge load of crap, sorry mate u have to deal with all that annoying sh!t,suckers!

Thanks mate, it really does suck to deal with all this, it has been close to a month now, it is taking forever.

ok finally got it back today, they fixed the bumper alignment which is ok, still wasn't 100%perfect. They didn't mix the metallic particles evenly at some places, so at certain angle you can see some funny shadows... but what can I do....

I'm glad that u r done with this, but i was wondering why the insurance didn't just replace the bumper with a new one? coz not totally damaged?

Usually insurance companys are tight and try and spend as little money as possible, so they either try and repair the part and use a 2nd hand reconditioned part:t-banghea and only in the end will get a brand new part:usa7uh: it was the same when we had a suspension arm replaced on our Audi under the insurance...but we got a new part in the end:D

Should of taken it to a Subaru dealer garage so they can get the correct colour?? Or does your insurance not say it covers dealerships??

P.s Sorry about your car and glad you got her back:)

At 1st I did take the car to the Subaru dealer appointed reparier, but those bastards reversed my car onto the pavement and scratched the exhaust. They said the car wasn't scraping on the ground when I can clearly see the rear end of my car sitting on the pavement, so I told them to get f*cked and went to this other repairer. Chosing a repairer is always a hit and miss affair, you don't know their quality of work until you try it, and I really hope I don't have to visit any ever again.

The insurance did pay for a new bumper, but they didn't pay for one of the parking sensor because that didn't appear to be damaged even though it wasn't working. The smash repairer find some other replacement sensor and it seems to work for now.

i wanna know how the insurance work down there, coz here in cairo if u have ur car insured they simply replace the damaged parts in the authorized service center,5 years ago i hit a dog while doin 100km/h and it totally damaged my front, although there was some "ok" parts they replaced all with new ones.Another case a friend of mine drives a E60 525i hit his door in the garage while parking it while it can be easily fixed he demanded for a whole new door and he got it,so what's the evaluation process down there?!

This will get confusing, so I hope I can explain it. The insurance company will tell you to go to their authorised repairer, however this might be different to the dealer authorised repairer, in my case, the Subaru authorised repairer is not part of the Alliance authorised repairer, even though the we bought the Subaru insurance package, which is offered by Alliance. I went to the Subaru authorised repairer and the people there has to call the insurance company so a guy will come over to the repairer shop and evaluate the damages and the parts that needs to be replaced. This usually takes a day.

It usually depends on your luck and the insurance company you are with, sometimes they replace all the damaged parts with new factory parts, but other times they will just repair the damaged parts and use parts from aftermarket supplier. This was the case with our old Saab, it was sent into repair and we didn't get a new bumper, or front panel, or a bonnet even though they are heavily damaged. The windscreen was cracked but they didn't replace it with factory original items, which was tinted can absorb radiation, we got some cheap ass normal windscreen instead.

Alliance..sigh!

It's always the mutli-national companies are the ones to rip u off,Alliance has that reputation here,i never deal with them, another thing is here u don't have to send ur car to the repair shops of the insurance company u just send it to it's authorized service center and they'll send a guy over there to evaluate everything. From my experience with these kinds stuff local companies are always better than big multi-national ones.

Our local companies are even less efficient and less willing to replace damaged parts with new parts. My old Saab was insured under NRMA, the local insurance company, and they just repair the old damaged parts, and gave us non factory replacement parts.

^That is outrageous!!

What if the damn thing is totally broken?:eusa_doh:

I think here coz everyone drives like an a$$ the local insurance union is encouraging people to insure their cars and stimulating the local insurance ones to improve their services to stand on solid ground against foreign ones, either that process is painful and i hate dealing with insurance more than the accident itself:t-banghea:D
