What do you do on your spare-time?

Wow man superhardcore.. so is it made on gold or something.. lol.. but seriously it looks pretty darn good

It`s incredible!! even with older films the image quality is just breathtaking!! :eek2: This piece is for very serious movie buffs!
The rear termainals are real gold! The body is a heavy brushed aluminum
if I`m not mistaken.

Yeah but GTA, it not in High Definition (the movies you watch)
I believe DVD movies resolution is 640*480 progressive (480p) max!

You will be utterly amazed with Blu Ray players next year (and HD DVD)
Playstation 3 will be the first ever consumer product in the U.S to be able to broadcast movies in HD (up to 1900*1080, 1080p)

For around a tenth of that price, too!

Is Blu Ray going to become an industry standard? Or will Sony once again fail to convince the others their tech is superior and the way to go?

I think they might pull it off this time.. cause the PS3 will be a must have for most ppl...

The battle is on between HD-DVD (Toshiba and co) and Blu Ray (Sony and co)

From what the facts are today, it looks like Blu Ray has the best and strongest position to win. Mainly because of the PS3 and Sony owning a lot of major movie studios:

October is shaping up to be a cruel month for Toshiba and the rest of the HD DVD gang. Last week Paramount confirmed that they were softening their support for HD DVD and would be releasing movies in both HD DVD and Blu-ray, now a Japanese newspaper reports that Warner Bros., which had been firmly pledged to HD DVD, will announce that they’re going to offer movies on both formats, as well (there was a rumor going around last week that this was in the works). That means there’s only one major studio left — Universal — which is still publicly committed to releasing movies only in HD DVD, and even they’re starting to waver. At this point it’s Blu-ray’s race to lose.

Now that's Paramount and Warner Bros joining too.......That's all the major movie studios supporting Blue Ray, most exclusively!

Interesting, I hope Sony comes out on top of this one. They really are in need of some good news. Samsung has been beating them to a pulp in recent times.

Klier, there isn`t a stand alone DVD player on earth that can diplay 1080-1900 in progressive mode. Thats interlaced signal your talking about which is easier to achieve. Progressive deals with film based material on the dvd itself!
An ordinary dvd player displays 25 frames on 1 sec. This H2000 model
(as well as others) can display 60 frames in 1 sec. from film material, Thats fast!
480p to 720p is about the best you can achieve from from a Pro Scan player.

Of course you have the option of choosing the Progressive or Interlaced
mode with a Player like this one. :D
Interlace mode has more than a 1080 lines of resolution.

When the Blue Ray players come out thay are going to be very expensive!
You can bet I`ll be one of the first to own one! :usa7uh:

GTA you seem to be technique nerd :D Do you use gold cables to the DVD and stereo? j/k

I also watch a lot of movies and I used to play computer games. I played Quake for many years, joined different clans and we worked as a team and played for hours. I was addicted to Quake :D

I'm into movies but our TV system isn't quite as good as yours GTA!

Our DVD is built into a Panasonic HD and DVD recorder, and works fine!

In my spare time i post in GCF forums and i play XBOX. I have already pre-ordered a XBOX 360 too. Can't wait. :eusa_danc

Good to see that there are some Hifi/Video nerd like me here. :usa7uh:
Man... I'm so damn craz about gadgets. I remember when I started buying expensive gadgets. My mother went all nuts when she found out the price of the stuff I bought. Off course my affection for gadgets is expensive, I can't even afford most of the high end products I want just a Nad amplifiers, B&W speakers Samsung LCD screen which supports 1080i.

I 'm thinking of buying a Sony Bravia LCD next year. I will go for the 32 or 40 inch model:

Don`t laugh, it`s the truth. I acually did buy some very expensive cables
with 24k gold connecters for the DVD player!. Gold has the best signal purity!!
My USB cable for the stereo is also gold.
