1M! It's design is growing on me like crazy! The M3 is very elegant, but the 1M is just a pure sports car, instant classic.

It's a toss up between the E36 M3 Sedan, E46 M3, and Z4M. I think I would go for the Z4M today.

Although it pales on a technical level, the E36 Coupe I still think is the coolest M3 of its time. The E46 is up there as well. As great as the E9x is, it was the first M3 of its time that wasn't perhaps the first car I'd buy with $50+K to spend on a car. That's how much I loved the earlier ones during their respective times.

My first pick is the E92 M3, preferably in CSL or whatever the final light weight special will be called. IMO the sports/luxury balance has gone slightly too much to the luxury side for this generation, however its newer and more powerful rivals are still not able to touch it in terms of driver satisfaction and on track performance. As the last naturally aspirated M car, it has to be on the top of my list. The 1M follows closely in 2nd. It is a gone back to basic (relatively speaking) raw, fun drivers car much like E30.
