i agree also that the porsche is not flashy like the zonda and such but there is just something about it just like all porsches that is the it factor. Probably my favorite supercar and i somehow just love the simplicity around this car. Just look at the interior it is for a purpose not all flashy and over done. I do have tremendous respect for the zonda and probably most other supercars though.

I agree! The Porsche Carrera GT just doesn`t have that exotic flavor.
I`ve said this before, the Mercedes SLR just might be the first German exotic.
Porsche cars are fast, good drivers cars but thay are not exotic.

Exactly , sometimes Im afraid to speak what's on my mind here . But dont get me wrong , nothing is wrong with the design of the CGT , but it doesnt have those lines or curves that the SLR has , even though it has slight similarities to SL , the SLR is a masterpiece but the CGT is just another porsche .

No , I know exactly what Im talking about . The CGT is just too plain to me , especially after I saw it at the L.A auto show , it looks like the design came from somewhere in the 90s , and they just added on those futuristic alien headlamps and rear flashes . Performance aside , I already know what CGT is capable of . As a matter of fact , even with that V10 and little bit over 3000 lbs , the CGT cannot match the speed of a 3800 pounder with a supercharged V8 like the SLR . So dont give the CGT all that credit , it's not the best german car ever built .

CGT is the ultimate driving machine, even if its not the fastest car in in the world on straightlines (but everything isnt just about acceleration) its simply one of the best supercars on the planet. And not much beat a CGT in handling or driving experience.

Anyway, for now the poll is between CGT and SLR...

The SLR makes the SL 55 feel like a toyota , and none of those two lack it anyway . Everything isnt just about the Acceleration , but acceleration as well is a very important capability , it's the power on the cover of the book , but when I say the SLR is faster than CGT , it doesnt mean it's weak when the road gets twisty , it's handles incredibly . you make it sound like Im bashing SLR, I dont. SLR is fast but it aint the same car as a CGT. I seen comparison where CGT is as fast as SLR and even if a CGT is 0,5 sec slower in acceleration I wont care about it. CGT is too fast for roads anyway and exploring all of it without risking anything is a rare thing. CGT is too fast for most people to handle. Arguing about small acceleration differences between them seem to be Nuts!!

BTW I saw a video were a SL65 accelerate faster than a SLR. If I want straigtline performance I can buy a SL65 and save some money. Heck, why dont buy a CLK-DTM instead. At least CLK-DTM isnt owned by Paris Hilton

I voted for the M5 but I was very tempted by the F430. I love me some Ferraris. I own two BMWs and it would be like I was cheating on my wife if I didn't vote for a BMW and instead voted for the young hot blonde...er...I mean Ferrari.

The Carrera GT is a better car than the SLR hands down. There were too many Mercedes-Benz compromises made by the McLaren team working on the car because they had to. I'd gladly drive either car as my own any day of the week, but the Carrera GT is undoubtedly the better driver's car. I think it's one of the best looking supercars out there, so that part of things is definitely subjective.

So obviosly SLR isnt always the fastest car in acceleration. I think its up to the driver in the end. I think most people will find SLR to be easier to drive, a lot thanks to automatic.

Hell , I dont know if ever noticed Just_me , but Im not a big fan of the AMGV12 BiTurbo cars , this will hopefully prove to you that Im honest : Those V12 cars are not good handling for what they are , I always enjoy driving my CLS55 , but I didnt enjoy nothing about the CL65 except for the acceleration , I dont know about the new S65 , Im pretty sure they modified the car very strictly , but for the SL and Especially the CL : They dont deserve the V12 Bi Turbo badge . But when I speak of SLR , it's because I drove sat and tested the car , amazingly far too good for anything else Ive ever driven , the SLR doesnt have a clutch , or Sequential manual , but that Speedshift works enough combined with all that balance and carbon fibre .(Im getting carried away)

The SLR has the stiffest body structure ever tested. The CGT can`t make that claim. I wouldn`t call the Porsche CGT the better supercar. Thats purly subjective. These cars are engineered a bit differently so all in all one is not superior to the other.

AMG-UNIT, why don`t you test drive the Porsche CGT. You just might like it better, who knows.

GTA ....... Dont you notice that my taste always starts with the looks ? If I were to care about performance itself I would go for an M5 , but like my cousin is telling he used to pickup more chicks in his white E500 , but he says the drive is amazing .

I dont dont care if people dont notice me. I dont like to flash, I rather drive.
