I absolutely love this from VW. With a price of 20K Euros this car should sell very well and give the Renault 4 and 5 models some serious competition .

Renault 4, 5, Clio and Twingo

lol

They were like "Nobody want to make cars in this segment anymore? Fine, we'll do it by ourself."

I recently had the opportunity to see the car at a closed room preview. Very, very mature car. This will be a big sales hit in Europe. Interior quality is better than most cars, even in higher segments, really reminded me of the times of Golf IV. Interior space indeed much better than the competition. I'm a big fan of the R5 but I'd take the ID.Polo in a heartbeat.

Renault are the ones who have set the world on fire with their brilliant small EVs. All the cars you mentioned except perhaps the new Clio are wonderful and I love them to bits.

Something super-clean appears to be lurking under the camofoil. Even vaguely "BMW i3 sedan-esque", perhaps ?

VW is becoming like ford. Their product line for USA used to be highly differentiated from the European one.

Personally, I'd like to see a number of the Chinese-partnered, in China assembled VAG products being officially exported to the EU markets. Or Europe-based VAG production faciliities assembling them.

I think they are scared of alienating European or more specifically Germany customers. Hence testing and learning in China.

VW has transformed into a completely different brand in China. ALL of its models are "better" than their European counterparts.

This sedan has a lot of intriguing details and is very original in its design.

I find the ID.Unyx 09 sedan very interesting as well.

However, the presentation vehicle is not wearing the most elegant paintjob and the black rims further diminish the allure of visual. And that glossy black strake extending from the lower front lighting units, through the front fenders and into the front doors is a genuinely disturbing eyesore.

In a subdued, elegant metallic, with large diameter silver/black bicolor rims and ridden of that ghastly strake, it would be a genuinely beautiful sedan. But as things currently stand, it's cousin, the new Xpeng P7 sedan...

...is the better looking vehicle IMHO.

Can we make a separate thread for these upcoming Chinese VW models?
They're all so goddamn awful, and completely irrelevant for the west

I really like these proportions

...first thing that came up was Nissan Fairlady somehow. It's actually not that bad proportion wise. Kinda cool indeed
