CLS Updated 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Details Announced

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.

Another model making headlines while we were away was the Mercedes CLS63 AMG, with a pair of photos surfacing that demonstrate precisely what the model will look like after its mid-life 2009 model year refreshening.

As the CLS is already a stunning, stunning vehicle, it's hardly surprising that few changes are present on the new four door coupe. Areas that have changed, however, include a new front grille sporting only two bars; larger 19-inch wheels; LED tail lights; and a now carbon rear spoiler. In terms of power, the CLS63 remains unchanged, with the model still boasting 514 horsepower and a 0-62mph time of just 4.5 seconds.

We will of course keep you posted when more in-depth details are revealed; in the meantime, head over to Mercedes-Benz Germany to check out the updated 2009 CLS63 AMG's complete list of technical specifications.

Always enjoyed the look of the CLS, but the changes aren't really noticable. Probably when I see it in person I will be able to notice the changes.

The current CLS is still extremely beautiful and in my opinion it doesn't really need a facelift. Nevertheless LED rear lights etc are a very good idea.

That's just it, they look terrible on the CLS. :eusa_doh:

I preferred the original CLS mirrors.

I think they look good. Sleek like the car itself.
The previous ones were a bit bulbous, but still good-loking.

However everybody complained about them because they were too high and restrained the front vision too much. The new ones, sleeker, are less high so I think this is a bigger improvement than just a design change. And the new design of the repetitors is absolutely delicious!

To each his own. :t-cheers:
