Ugliest BMW's produced?

Z1 (whole Z line-up actually) & X3 are the unforgetable sins from Bmw :eusa_doh:...!

It would have to be the BMW Isetta for me...

Which is actually not a BMW at all. :D

It's an ISO. BMW just bought the rights to produce it in Germany since they needed an affordable small car to keep them afloat and also offer an entry-level product for many of their motorcycle customers who could operate this car with no problems given that the Isetta basically used a motorcycle engine.

I still think the E65 7er was an amazing piece of work and the single most significant car design of this decade.

To me the X3 is the ugliest BMW ever, in the sense of its mission and its place in the company's history. Not only was it an outright sell-out cash cow vehicle, cynically placed to exploit a hole in the market, but it was a design whose mission was wrong from the get-go. Why build a sport soft-roader to appear rugged and truck-like when that doesn't play to the product's strengths, nor the strengths of the parent brand? The result looked neither sporty nor rugged - it just looked stupid.

Seeing how beautifully the new X5 and X6 have resolved themselves you can't help but shake your head in wonder at the X3. Every post-Bangle BMW grew on me with the exception of this one. I can't wait for its stain to be washed away from the BMW lineup.

Bangle's first child conceived with BMW is the ugliest. The E65 7er is really a mess and the whole design is not very thought through. It's more like an exhibition project for BMW's new design language and there's nothing I like about it. The previous generation 7er looked waaaaay better.

This is not Bangle's first child conceived with BMW.

The prefacelift 7 series has to be the worse of them all. the 5 series is a close second and Z4 is a close third. X3 is much better than those three in my book.:D

I will second EnI, the front of the 2000CD E115 is absolutely ugly.

In second I would go for the Compact. But it is not really ugly.

Same goes for the X3. It looks bad, but is not really ugly. The 7er too...They look bad, but are not really ugly.
The Z3 is wonderful, love this little car, even if it is not really manly..

The Bangle's BMW, and after, are (almost) all bad looking to my eyes, however I would not say they are really ugly. Definitively not. They are just not beautiful (for me), too complex and over-designed, far from the class and cat-like lines of the previous BMW, but that's all.
Only the e92, and the Concept X6 are much better designwise.

Hunnn... yes :t-banghea...!

Wow, you are the first person I've ever talked to who thinks the Z8 was ugly.

Why not a M5/M6 in same check :t-hands:...?

Well, in terms of technological prowess, the Z8 was something completely new for BMW; not only did it feautre an aluminum body but boasted a complicated hand-built production process.

I believe it to be a masterpiece.

Dam'n it's too many to make a list for... So I say about 85% of all BMW's ever made is ugly!

but I think this takes the highest price!

BMW compact

I found that it is actually easier to list those who are pretty I can just think of two at the moment: X5, 6-Series, MINI :)

The E90 isn't exactly a svelte beauty either.

It may look OK if it's got big wheels but still no beauty.

Hmmm...:eusa_thin Is that a STIHL I hear? I think the sound is coming from Croatia but seems like it's moving towards Norway. Weird... :dazed053:

:D

But are you serious, Julius? That's a lot of cars you hate...

Well hate is a wrong word.. But I have always chosen a car for it's design and not preformance.. So BMW cars may be great to drive.. haven't driven many yet but, it's actually none. But as I said in genereal I do not very often find BMW's interior and exterior nice but the seats and steeringwheel is often nice.
and Preformance wise BMW is in the top. But Design wise.. oh.. they are far behin of what I like.. But it's personal design really is.

and BMW have a litte problem they often design cars and afterwards they say: FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.. (that's why their car looks like that/ BUT!)

A CCX, Murcielago, 430, 911, Also has that same prinsipp when form follows function but those cars looks :icondrool

But BMW X3 is ugly. 5-Series Touring, Old BMW's, Z3 looks so bad!, dam'n, Z4 isn't very hot either, BMW 1 series, BMW in general dosn't look great IMO. But I like 3-series Coupe front, and 6-Series is sex on wheels, X5 is one of the best looking SUV's and M series is often nice.. but that's what they was overall designet from in the begining. To look nice as M cars then take the stylish parts away and build a "normal" car..

:t-cheers:
