F1 Truth about McLaren's F1 by the man who created it

The McLaren F1 is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Cars and powered by the BMW S70/2 V12 engine, of which a limited number were produced. On 31 March 1998, the XP5 prototype with a modified rev limiter set the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest production car, reaching 240.1 mph (386.4 km/h), surpassing the Jaguar XJ220's 217.1 mph (349.4 km/h) record from 1992 achieved with an increased rev limit and catalytic converters removed.

Thanks for this great video @Kowalski really love the way Tiff Needel drives the F1 and then gives his normal enthusiastic description of the cars handling and performance. This car is a masterpiece for sure it is one of THE greatest sports cars ever! Love the F1 to bits, if only I was a multilple millionaire and I would be driving one of these babies for sure! Fantastic! Marvelous!

This is the computer McLaren uses until this very day to read the computer of the McLaren F1.

The F1 was one of the first cars that used a computer to drive the engine, and this DOS running Compaq LTE 5280 is the only machine capable of reading the systems, as they have not made a tool for current hardware. True story.

Another funny F1 related story is the one from a dude who brought his F1 to McLaren for maintenance. And when they were reading the systems, it said that the car was driving 300 km/h every single day. They assumed it to be a glitch of the system, but when the man came back to collect his car, the good old people of McLaren found out that he actually drove 300km/h every day, on the Autobahn on his way to work. Wow.

I think that dude is Dr. Thomas Bscher, the guy VW brought in to rescue the Veyron project.

Some great videos showing the factory and also the design of the marvelous F1.
