Official Thread Toyota Gazoo Racing presents the world premiere of the GR GT and GR GT3

It makes sense to me as a homologation model for the GT3 car: It doesn't matter if it's too expensive, they won't need to sell that many... and it doesn't matter if it doesn't win bhp Top Trumps, it's never going to race with the road car out put anyway. They also lean hard on this angle in the press release. Fair play to them for building it though.

The joke is on Honda for not making an S2000 successor.

I'm more sad that we never got the actual HSV-010 from Honda (which would have been more of a competitor in this space), I never really liked the S2000 for some reason.

I think it will sell better than the lfa did är launch. It was under appreciated.

Competition for this car doesn't matter much. A new Japanese super car is only born eveey 10-15 years.

The JDM community will be ecstatic that this car exists. Some cultists of Japanese cars have zero interest in German or Italian super cars. This is the car for them. I also think that the car will have a nice halo effect on the gr yaris and corolla.

Toyota is sexy again unlike during its beige era of 2007-2012.

Agreed, just this was one of the best cars ever!

Maybe. I'm a bit of a JDM fan and while the Racing fan in me is happy to see a proper Toyota GT3 car coming, as far as road cars go, I'd be far more excited to see a new trifecta of FF, MR and FR sportscars arrive from Toyota at a far, far more attainable price than this is rumoured to be.

But Toyota already is the only brand selling affordable sporty cars. A Halo car like the GR GT suits as a piece de resistance

Same here.

I wish they would show us the production NB1 NSX like how BMW and Porsche showed their unreleased prototypes, I'm sure it's hidden in a warehouse somewhere. They were targeting a 'Ring record and it was exactly 1 month away from global debut before it was completely cancelled.
