X6 Top Gear reviews the BMW X6.

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).
what about this then.. X6 doesn't seem bad at all..

I have done this AND worse in my X6, ask Martinbo - The RSA is THE playground of the SUV and in my case SAV genre.

Just goes to show - BBC Top Gear fabricated filming - BRITISH marketing BITISH products....Bla bla bla...whe all know Clarkson AND he can't drive poor bloke!

Saw the BEST 4x4xFAR...Range Rover got stuck here...and IMO it REALLY is the best 4x4xfar! I just loooooove the Range-Rover, would buy one in...say 20 years for comfort and capibility when I retire.

X6 / X5...same underpinnings and I would not make a song and dance about their offroad capability, though this video speaks for itself - they are fairly and satisfactory capable!

That video didn't do the RR justice, the guy driving had the settings compltely wrong!

There is no point tryign to even mention that a X6 has the same off-road capabilities as a RR

The first is a Range Rover and the second a Land Rover. Different cars. As you can see, the Land Rover performs MUCH better off road.

Sorry but low range is needed for road uses aswell :usa7uh:

Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about :usa7uh:

What an argument winner... Some people... with muney... just don't want to become slave of half assed user interface designed by a braindead nazy-mutant office drone somewhere in Germany...
I can't understand when it became fashionable use the word Nazi, I think it is fast becoming a cliche

When you use a car everyday... and everyday you fight against an interface that should never even have reached the prototype stage you might want to wonder why you paid so much money. (unless your Max Mosley and into leather/bondageand s&M stuff).

I don't fight with the iDrive neither does my wife who is not that computer savvy. I believe this iDrive complexity-complaint schitk is becoming a bit ridiculous. If you can't figure it, then try doing some 4th grade stuff.
I honestly don't see the relationship between the topic and Max Mosley here so I beg to ask the question- what is the point here?

As for those defending the 'lifestyle' status of this crap on wheel, therefore nobody should expect it to be of any use offroad or in snow.
Kno that some people have money... live in country where the weather can turn form charming to hell on earth in around 30 minutes. Therefore, on one side, the desire to have a luxury/confortable/sporty car is mixed with the need of soemthing able to behave properly in the snow/ice/rain with factory fitted tires. I don't even live in a praticularily bad town, but last time I went to buy some blank DVD in town, it started raining when I entered the shop and when I tried to leave the parking the water was already 30 cm high in the street with city employee in fishing gear opening the sewer manholes to... help flood the sewers and overflow... I think...

And to be honest, as poseur as the Audi Q7 might look, I don't think he or any thorsen Quattro would be a complete letdown in bad weather.

It is obvious you are obsolutely clueless. I have been driving my X6 with summer tires in snow for 2 months now so I honestly don't see the logic of your argument. It works well in snow, and icey condition, and I am sure with proper tyres it will be much better.

Watch the video, you'll see the RR do a climb first!

Low range is used for bad road conditions such as snow and ice, it's need when breaking and setting off.

What you say makes sense if only the rational part of your brain is used when deciding on a new car. Luckily, that is seldom the case. This is an emotional vehicle. It is a great and original desing, the ride is good if you are not expecting S-class standard and the image is sporty.

The X6 makes its case, no doubt. It would never have happened, had it not been for the X5 and hence, the jeopardy from BMW's side is not that big either.

Again, if you want something different with a original design, cheaper and with a better ride but drives the same...

What the point in the 5-er GT?

Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about :usa7uh:

The low-range is actually recommended for use when driving in snow or other bad conditions in some "cars", like my parents previous Mitsubishi L200. So, in a sense, Vroom² is right. I think you guys are thinking of different road conditions.

The X6 made a sporty move from the X5 while the GT made a similar move towards comfort compared to the 5-series.

Next up, X1 vs this: :D

I love this thing. BMW should seriously hire whoever made this.

Guess these sensible young men beat BMW to it...

I have to agree with him on the gear shifter. I mean, what was wrong with the old way of shifting gears? Oh and the placement of the Park button on top of the shifter doesn't help either. Once I was leaving a gas station with my hand on the shifter and I accidentally engaged it without knowing it. Took me a minute to figure out what just happened.

I'd still get an X6 anyway :D.

In your face Clarkson :D
