Ouch, what did you do?

Turns out the comfy looking seat that I was leaning back on, in my friends first floor flat, wasn't a seat - but a window... The injuries actually only stemmed from my face hitting the wall opposite on the way down.... other than getting knocked out, landing didn't actually do any harm. I didn't realise anything was wrong to begin with, and climbed back up through the window... much to the confusion of my friend, who thought I'd gone to the toilet.. But, he's a good friend, so after getting his camera to record the moment, and after finishing his doobie, and after finishing cooking whatever he was cooking, he walked me to hospital... via everywhere else in town other than the hospital.

Hard liquor does not give you wings... but still... good times...... good times.

Holy crap.

Yeah, I make light of it because it was ****ing stupid and I got really lucky. The stay in hospital was an eye opener though, since the fall was over 6ft and I'd sustained a head injury, I'd been put on some emergency trauma ward attached to A&E, the guy on the other side of the curtain in the bed next to me died that night... the first of two times I've listened to someone die in hospital, out of two stays in hospital. I don't like hospitals.

So…this happened today, on the west coast of the Peloponnese Peninsula.

They say beware of Greeks bearing gifts, but I had nothing to worry about with @Giannis. He very kindly brought some local sweets (loukoumi), and a digestif called ‘Tentura’. All I brought was the British weather.

I was almost convinced he was a bot, programmed to just argue with random people over the internet. But Mat is indeed real, he's got an amazing family and he's a nice guy with an informed opinion and a good laugh. Thanks for taking time from your vacation to meet up, Mat!

Guys, there are people here with whom we've been talking for 20 years. That's two decades. I hope that at some time I'll get to meet the rest of you, old farts. I think meeting up with @klier and @LaArtist at the same time would be peak GCF.

I'm planning to visit an old friend in Hannover late this year, and I think @Gianclaudio lives there.

PS. @martinbo if you can manage the Bahrain heat, you can withstand a few days in mainland Greece.
