Chronos The Watch Thread.

I’m considering a Citizen Chronomaster (their equivalent of Grand Seiko) with the solar Ecodrive mechanism. Beautiful japanese aesthetic and finish, and never have to service it. And the price are very good at around 2-2.5 k euros

Agree on Grand Seiko's excellent finishing, but nevertheless never purchased one. It's probably me but I miss a bit of soul or vibe in GS' offering, they just don't strike a cord with me.

Exactly. And that’s why the Junghans Max Bill solar is also on my radar. But then again…the Nomos Orion 😔
Both Max Bill and Orion, have a distinct Bauhaus-like design, which I like very much. Both master the art of less is more. I’d go for the Nomos Orion, Gianclaudio.

I tried finding a pic but not sure which on you're interested in, could you post one?

Here’s the link to some models offered by Seiya (it’s called The Citizen in Japan):

And also on Gnomon watches, the ones at around 2k price:

This is the one I like most:

Finally brought the watch home after a long day. I have never expect to own both of these watches, but here they are.

@Mick Briesgau and fellow members, which one is your favourite? I will like you read your thoughts.

To me, the "panda" dial combination has a cleaner, more elegant appearance, while the black "reverse" panda dial looks more sports orientated.

In my head the panda is trying to look like something it isn’t, the reverse panda isn’t, so it’s the reverse for me, it’s stands on it own feet loud and proud.

Two executions of the same watch, but to me they look like complete different watches, each with it’s own soul and character. Well done, @Monster 🙂
Of these two I prefer the reverse panda dial, because it’s a sports watch after all and because of the imo better legibility.

Thank you all for the complements ! After spending a week with both watches, I actually prefer the reverse panda as well.

The panda dial looks more striking in most photos posted online, however in person, it is the reverse panda which captures my attention more.

I am happy to have both to start. I have no idea which watch will come next, but it is all part of the fun.

Love the dial.
I was on the waiting list for this , and the honeycomb fluted motif dial. I would have loved the motif dial more , but this will work also.

Actually , 3 days after this arrived , they called me from Dubai that it had arrived (I was on a waiting list over there also ) , and this one was in motif dial , but the price difference was pretty big. I think the USD so high has it's downsides...

Here it was around 12k. In Dubai , it was around 14k. Same watch....
