When it comes to the ultimate SUV there is only one car for me:

1996 Mitsubishi Pajero Super Exceed

In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful SUVs ever made and one of the most underrated ones too. My family used to own this car in the Phillipines. We had the base 2.5-l turbodiesel 4-cylinder with 99-horsepower. It was a slow car but it was extremely fun to drive and when we took it off-roading it never disappointed us.

I love the G-Class and Range Rover, but against the Pajero? No thanks, give me the more simpler, humbler SUV that is just as capable.

WOW wimmer you bring back memories for me this was my second car i ever owned a facelifted of this model the 3.5gls whata car i had loads off fun loads i used it offroading on road it was just pure fun..I agree with you 100 percent very very underated vhehicle.

I have been waiting for this poll:D

NO CONTEST! It HAS to be the Range Rover (especially the H&H by Overfinch)

Well, IMO the Range Rover is the most complete car on the planet - A Rolls-Royce, yet has off road capabilities that is mind blowing, has EVERYTHING in terms of technology and every bell + whistle, power and dynamics to match...
What more do you need if you can get it in ONE package, the best materials and luxury for 1/4 of a Phantoms price??? :t-cheers:

I salute the MASTER of ALL

I have to agree, it is really something. Pure luxury and a true off roader with an interior to die for. Lexus wishes their LX570 had the style of a Range Rover. The only thing that holds the G-Class back is its age, but that same thing is its appeal also. I don't consider the Escalade or Navigator true rivals to the Range Rover. They're all lacking something. Mercedes' GL550 comes close, but doesn't have the interior or the status of the RR or Mercedes own G.

Solution: Just have both a RR and preferably a G55 AMG.

Wow this is a 4x4 thread WITHOUT mentioning the Land Rover Defender? Who are you all kidding yourselves for!

Range Rover for me, G-class is just a luxury expensive Defender 110..

Exactly. To me this is the real competitor to the G-Class: the original G-Class. :t-cheers:

well said!!:usa7uh:

This has been a very difficult poll for me for obvious reasons. I have an RR but I love the G. One reason I settled for the RR is to avoid having 3 Benzes but apart from frequent trips to the garage, I've grown to love the Range. Extremely capable and respectable but so is the G. The interior in the 2010 RR model is to die for, yet, if I were presented with an option of trading up for a new SUV and I was presented with a black 2010 RR or G550 ... I still cannot tell which one i'd pick for sure :t-hands:
Damn!

I love the RR's interior and exterior. I got a chance to sit in the G-class at the Auto Show and was very impressed. Felt like a vault and sits so high. I'm still debating as well.

I forgot to vote. I'll take the G-class. Normally the Range would have been my choice, but after sitting inside the G....different story.
