Main challenge will be reliability of course for these new machines.
Is there a way to watch the entire race on TV without switching between broadcasters every two hours? Or is the website stream the best option? I have access to PPV channels in the US, UK, Canada and a few other places.Personally, at this point I think the main challenge is convincing IMSA to keep giving you a more favourable BOP!
On the one hand, it's new for everybody, the hope is BMW have done a better job on car development than the others, or certainly at least as good a job, and that BOP doesn't penalise them. On the other hand, there's teams, drivers and people that have got more experience in the top prototype class, and when the green flag waves at Daytona, that's going to be just as important as what's underneath them. I f#cking love the Daytona 24, and I'm glad I've got somebody in the top class again to properly cheer for, but I'm honestly not expecting a trophy out of it - if we're the 3rd fastest car we still need others to have bad luck to get on the podium.
Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I'm also not convinced the GT classes will yield much. They've had far more factory support in the past and still failed to be near the front. I think the nature of being a Roval penalises cars not built as true sportscars more than many other tracks.
I'm hyped for the race either way.
