Roberto, you plan on owning a BlancpaiN? I do. If you own one you have the King of all watches. No other watch has a 270 year history, BlancpaiN started
it all!

Why stop at one watch??? Why not buy the whole company? Shoot high and miss high and at least youll get a watch, right? :D

I have loved Blancpain for a very long time GTA7.5 ...but Patek Philippe are every bit as good IMO.

PS. thanks for that link.

This watch really appeals to me - so beautiful :usa7uh:

Blancpain. You know - of all the old-guard Swiss prestige watchmakers, this brand is almost unique in its complete and utter devotion to detailed product. Lots of their watches don't set my heart on fire, but on the other hand I can't fault them, because they execute head and shoulders above other "horology-type" brands like Chronoswiss and are the definition of "modern traditional executive" design.

It's a crying shame and somewhat ironic - the prominance of electronic design hasn't led to better looking watches, but instead has injected sloppy design into what were once completely unassailable brands. Even brands that are absolute institutions like Vacheron Constantin spit out flawed face designs on an almost regular basis. When you're paying in excess of $10k for a wristwatch you'd think that, at bare minimum, the design would be nothing short of perfect. Unfortunately, some of Geneva's best just don't have keen eyes anymore.

Blancpain released a beautiful series of black-faced watches last year. Here's one of the hilights:

An absolutely dead-serious watch with every milimeter of its face marked with care. Let's not even start on the ultra-complicated masterpiece of a movement ticking underneither. I'll take two please!

Thats a beautiful time piece there Osnabrueck. I really like BlancpaiN a lot!
Thay are beautiful, formal very elegant time pieces that are not fashion oriented! BlancpaiN doesn`t design gaudy instrumentation on their watches
(which I would consider watch fashion) a lot of watch makers are guilty of this! With BlancpaiN the whole watch design, (strap included) stands out with sweeping elegance. Thay are the gold medal designers in my book

Quartz movements are a sin to BlancpaiN!

I've always liked the elegance of Blancpain. The problem is, I don't know which one I like the best.

I like watches but don't know much about them! When I turn 21 I will get an Omega watch! Probably an omega seamaster! My parents have these watches and they are really nice!

But as I don't really want to spend lots of money on a watch at the moment, I have an adidas watch at the moment, which was £110 RRP, but I got it for £45!

I went shopping for a watch yesterday and came upon this one,
$61,800 off the retail price. It will be on sale for a little while.

Given its beauty and rarity, the suggested retail price of $606,000.00 may one day seem a bargain. Could this be the timepiece that sets a record when the hammer drops at auction in 2015? For more pictures and detailed information, visit www.fmrevolution2.com.

Those are nice Alex but thay look like thay could have been in "fashion" 50 years ago. A little too old fashion and unsophisticated looking for my taste.

The finish on that watch's movement is astounding. An impressive piece of work.

I find it very hard to get into "old timer" face markings unless things are just soooo. I'm turned of by some of the sub-markers on this Franck Muller because they look like they were computer-set. You shouldn't be able to "see" the computer in these things.

I second that. Most watch makers today are guilty of that kind of tasteless design work. When your spending upwards of $20,000 and beyond the design should impress with a natural hand made elegance.

I wouldn't say "tasteless", but I would say careless.

Problem is, computers have enabled half-assed efforts to appear good to the untrained eye. I wonder if so many Swiss and German watchmakers are actually so dense as to let flimsy designs pass to production, or if they're just too cheap to hire a quality art director.

Either way, it's a crying shame when fabulous watches are adorned with less than perfect markings. Even Vacheron Constantin lets one slip every so ofen. Outrageous.

Blancpain proves that consistant design control isn't out of reach for the prestige class of Swiss watchmakers. What's the trick? Ovbiously somebody up the chain just has a good eye for what should and shouldn't be.

What a nice watch you have Osna, I like it. How much did it cost? Unfortunaately the looks of the 2003 Aquaracer Automatic doesn't exactly make me jump out of my chair. It's more or less a "nice" watch and nothing else and for $800 I expect a watch to be more distinctive. I really hate buying watches since I'm very picky and the truth is buying a watch is a very difficult task since there are to many "nice" watches to choose from.

I don't know which watch I'm going to buy next but I want it to have brown leather strap, prefably with larges holes in it(pilot inspired). Since pictures say more than a thousand words I want it to look like the Louis Vuitton watch below. The brand offers some really fantastic looking watches but unfortunately their watches are quite expensive. The watch below retails for 4k which is far from what I can afford but I trying to find a look-a-like which cost less than $600.

I saw a limited edition Chronograph watch on Louis Vuitton's website last week for over 100,000 British Pounds ....I just checked their website and they are all sold out in the UK.

That Frank Muller watch is quite old-fashioned ...but I don't mind that so much.

These Patek Philippes' are pretty old fashioned too ....but I adore them.
