The IDEAL Garage

1) Audi R8 (a crazy car I think);
2) BMW X6 (Just for familly:D)
3) Porsche Cayenne (I agreeto the cheapest one) for everyday driving.

I think I spent more than 200 000 dollars :shy:

My ideal garage, with only a classic car would be
- Mercedes W212 facelift e200cdi estate 7g-tronic Diamantweiss with half black leather (circa 60.000 euros and now we are very close to dollar)
- BMW 335i Coupè, used, circa 2009. Black with hazel interior. Manual. (circa 30.000euros)
- Porsche 993 911s. Dark Grey. Fullstop. This would be my classic choice (more than 8 yrs, circa 90.000euros)

Love the 993

Hahaha, yeah, in the US you'd be a shade over $30000 with your selection.

This is SO hard.

-I have to pick a Cherokee XJ for off roading. Fully modified for heavy duty off roading should still be very cheap for a $200,000 budget.

Seems like it can't be older than 8 years, I want in that case a JK Rubicon Unlimited, modified for the trails. Maybe a diesel swap. Manual or auto, I don't mind.

It gets harder now

-I would like to pick an E34 or E39, but I think I need to get a car that doesn't make compromises in this department, as the following is a sports car.
I'll pick an LS swapped, manual transmission BMW E38. BLACK.

-Last but not least, I think I'll loose the Porsche trend, and go with a Camaro. Yes. A Camaro. Camaro Z/28.

Actually, since it has a Chevy small block, I'll forget my second option and replace it with a BMW M5, E34 generation. Is that a classic? Did I break the rules with the Cherokee? I can update but I really want an XJ haha

With the remaining money I can road trip and buy you guys a drink
;)
Who's in?

I'll be updating my post with pics.

I dunno about the parameters here but there are 5 cars that are trending for me right now:

1. S65 AMG Coupe
2. Mulsanne Speed
3. 911 GTS 4 Cabrio
4. M6 Grand Coupe
5. Range Rover Supercharged Autobiography

That is all I want.

All right man, it goes like this:
Choose three cars that combined cost $200,000 dollars or less. Keep the change.

Your are picking five cars and each costs over 200,000 hahahaha

I remember the thread were you picked like the entire Mercedes Benz line up and then a bunch of other cars to go with the Mercs haha

I gotta admit I'm a little upset about the fact that I couldn't pick a Volvo wagon and a big old Mercedes for my garage. Sorry Mercedes

With the debut of the new Volvo V60, I thought I'd revisit this thread...

The new Volvo V60 T6 Petrol or Hybrid....I'm still reuluctant to embrace hybrid tech because of long-term reliability and care. I still prefer the S/V90's interior, especially in Inscription-spec with that delicious walnut inlay.

Porsche 991.2 GT3....I NEED this car in my life. I just need it. Either blue (Deep Sea Blue or Midnight Blue) or green (Irish Green particularly) with platinum gray finish wheels.

BMW 3.0CS or 3.0CSL or Alpina 3.0CS. Legend.

Easily over $200,000 (probably comes in aroun $275-300K) but I think this is pretty solid garage.

The cap is pretty low! But Based on the original rules:
1) 1999 Mercedes-Benz S600 ~$15,000
2) 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet ~$184,000

No price cap:

1) Rolls-Royce Phantom Convertible ~$579,000
2) Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG ~$240,000
3) Bugatti EB110 SS ~$1,000,000 (?)

Right now, I'm thinking:

2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS 53 (with the trimmings, approx. 100-105K Euros)
2012 BMW E82 1 series M coupe (good examples with under 30K kms on the odometer can be had for just over 50K Euros)
1965 VW 1300 "Bug" Cabriolet (decent 2- condition examples can be had for 15-16K Euros)

At current exchange rates, just a smidgen over 210K USD.

I become more pragmatic and more fond of used cars every day.

I’d like an SUV, a sedan and, maybe, a sports car.

I’m thinking I’d buy a C2S 993, a Volvo or BMW from the late 90’s and something like my dad’s ‘99 Ford Explorer 5.0.

It’s way cooler than it sounds on paper. I just want reliable, cheap and fun cars.

I’d probably daily an E36/E90 or a Volvo S60. Even a 960 would be awesome.

Make the Explorer an automatic, Volvo I don’t care, BMW and Porsche manual.

Oh, no old cars. Damn.

Then:

BMW E60, 997 C2S and some kind of SUV. I think I’ll stick to the JK as I said a couple of years ago. Alternatively, a DIY F150 Lightning.

I would order a brand new single cab F150 with the Coyote 5.0, supercharge it, get a side exhaust and go fast parts, some suspension mods and sport tyres. Make it red or black.

That’s not my idea, BTW. Some dealership has been building F150 Lightnings in the USA from what I know.

As often the case, I was revisiting the ideal garage scenario in my mind...

No price cap scenario...
1) Either a) Mercedes-Benz E53 or E400 estate, b) Volvo V90, or c) BMW 5er Touring.
2) Porsche 911 GT3 991.2 w/ PDK
3) A front-engine V12 Ferrari from the last 20 years' preferably with a manual transmission.

Now if 2 more spots were to open up in said ideal garage....
4) restored BMW E9 or restored Alfa Romeo 105/115 series coupe
5) New G-wagen.

And if another if there was another spot......
6) Lexus LFA.

What is the limit as in how many cars you can have?

M

It's three, but I was feeling a little cheeky and broke my own rule. I even placed a price cap in te first post of this thread, but the Ferrari 575M has been on my mind lately, hence my post above. Admittedly, it's venturing from IDEAL garage territory to ULTIMATE garage territory.
