Honda hybrids are pretty much non-existent here. As for the other cars in their showroom, well, not much in the way of "green" models there...

Sure Volvo & Saab are listed so high purely due to green factor, and not because Swedes have patriotic feelings.

Volvo & Saab are definitely green ... when painted in green color.

I think it is part that and part the fact that both SAAB and Volvo sells a whole lot of ethanol cars and cars that are considered as environmentally friendly from a tax perspective. The same goes for Ford.

Yes, ethanol & bio-diesel "VERY" eco friendly - people have no idea how much energy (including classic fossil fuel), fertilizer & insecticide is required to grow the crops & make a fule out of it in the end. In the end "bio" fuels make much more harm to the environment than fossil fuels - not when driving the car, but earlier in production precess.

Exactly. And therefore Toyota / Prius is the greenest car in the world ever. Even greener than a bicycle.

When you drive a Prius you can see sun smiling at you, trees dancing in ecstasy, wind is gratefully taking a bow ... Birds, bunnies & deers are singing chorales ... Angles are flying carelessly all around ... And "mother" Earth is feeling safe & relaxed again.

And you - a Prius driver - you are the Greenman - the savior. The most important being on the planet.

Yes, marketing (mainly the advertising part) can make even the most pathetic human beings feel like the most important persons in the world.
