Fair enough, but if you’re going to have a performance shoutout you better have a track test. Doesn’t matter if you’ll ever take it on track or not especially if you have capable cars like these. Cover all your basis.

Disagree. A 200 hp streetcar isn't as quick as 500 hp, not with cars in this gang. Then they should only match cars with equal power.
I much prefer the feel inside a car and the satisfaction you get out of the driving.

You’re missing the point , then they shouldn’t be doing these kinds of tests at all, because none of them will ever match. Some will be more comfortable than others, some faster and some more powerful because they are all different cars. You can’t deduct points from a 911 GT3 because the ST is more comfortable but turn around and not give the GT3 points because it’s faster around a track. Your preference doesn’t matter, this is a magazine test and they should test all aspects of the car , not just what you think is relevant, because some people want to known how fast these cars are around the track.
Comfort, everyday driving , fun factor , road use, ergonomics and performance: acceleration and track driving should contribute toward the final ranking.

No point missing. There was a time when laptimes was intresting but not anymore. I have nothing against tests without laptimes. I care and want to read about the the driving, not the laptimes I will never be able achieve. 'Thrill of driving' is the meaning of this comparison, not the fastest track car.
If we want tests on equal terms, then they shouldn't mix all these kind of cars into the same test. Some of these cars are made for the track, moreso than real world driving. And some got twice as much power as another car in this test.

I don't think anybody takes you seriously, so I wouldn't worry about it.
You're not only one of the most prolific posters on here, but a member with some of the most forthright opinions, yet I've never seen a single post where your thoughts are shaped by your OWN experiences. Why don't you take a day off from posting on here, and go out and have your own fun in a car instead of stealing the opinions of other people and passing them off as your own.

Off top I have to disagree with Steve about the "dark blue" on the Cayman,I think it look amazing personally. Can't wait to see what the PDK equipped cars are like.

Haven't seen it in this color yet, but I saw it in black and it looks fantastic in dark color...

To be fair, I haven't seen it in the flesh as they have yet to arrive to the states,but it does photograph extremely well in what I believe is Gentian Blue.

Thank you. This was fantastic to watch and ECOTY distilled to the essence of evaluating just 6 purely-focused driving machines. Man, Sutters, Barker and Dickie can still drive like I can only wish to!!!

Nah - barring the Trophy R, not one of these cars are pure track cars. Most AMG A45S's will never see a circuit; an AWD Project 8, no matter how focused in how it's suspended, is as much a weapon for the road as it is on a track.
Massively impressed with the A45S - likened to an Evo VI (!) - it looks so composed up on its toes. Supple and flowing? Amazing and what a turnaround from the previous generation.
That AMG GT R Pro looks ridiculously "yaw-able". F#&kin hell!
This is a great ECOTY ensemble despite a few omissions and a terrific production. I got goosies.
