Well them copying means they still got alot of ground to catch up. By the time they don't need to copy and come up with their own trend, all these Chinese makers will pose huge competition. But happy to say that they are no where near there yet.
And it's a nice shortcut to copy right? Be it cars, smart phones, fighter jets, drones, rockets. All you do is you hack into some computer and rip the design, and build it.

I don't understand why you would say that.
I know things in China are complicated but I would not call China a "joke".
It is likely that China will face some serious economic problems in the next few years (it is an economic bubble) .....but the USA and Europe are facing a major economic crises.
I certainly don't have to tell you S&C, that traditional Chinese culture is very creative and original. Unfortunately, Communism does not promote a lot of individual creativity or self-expression, so now that China has embraced "State Capitalism", the entrepreneurialism is strong but originality is often lagging.
This will undoubtedly change ......and I already see signs of that happening.
The French luxury company Hermès has already created a Brand called Shang Xia that sells very fine modern Chinese objects (furniture and luxury objects) that sell for tens of thousands of dollars each.
These two modern Chinese chairs produced by Chinese luxury company Shang Xia sold for over US$153,000 last year at Christie's. It proves that China is not just an imitator .....they can compete with the most prestigious manufacturers in the world. The bag sold for over US$28,000

Thanks for not deleting it ......I was not trying to make any political statements. However, It is difficult to have a discussion about China without mentioning its authoritarian political system.

Yes, it was mainly directed at you, but more as a suggestion to not continue down that road.
Sadly, however interesting this topic is, history and experience suggest that things will get ugly. We are a multinational community after all

Well maybe their cars are joke, but their country is really tough!
I live in China,I know what I'm talking about..here is not a siutable place to talk about China's dictatorship and how their people suffer from it,so I would not go further.
