But like they say, the proof is in the pudding. There is a reason ~200k Chinese immigrate to US each year, including 70k plus illegally over the souther border braving death. While I don't see the same in reverse.

There is a great deal of employment by the state in China, it's not irrelevant to workers rights if they have a say in who runs the state, or not.

I came here with almost nothing but just enough money for half a semester of college that my parents scraped together. Now I am living a life I could have only dreamed of back then. I would love to take all the credit, but I am not some exceptional outlier. There are many like me, or even better, who came to US with almost nothing and now live lives they could have only dreamed of. That is why they want to migrate here, for the opportunity of a better life.

Yes, it happens elsewhere too, but I doubt it happens anywhere else with the same frequency and scale as in US.

The difference is back when my country was colonised and your country was colonised nobody knew any better, by 1947/48 we pretty much knew this wasn't going to fail but we did it anyway. US Secretary of State General George Marshall (he of the Marshall Plan) was adamant this project was going to be a disaster, turns out hew was right.

He told President Truman in May 1948, "If you recognize the state of Israel and if I were to vote in the election, I would vote against you."
