It's a curious item because of the sheer stupidity of it.

I'm not first... but anyway I wanted to make it my way.
My version of the E38 coupe. Unlike many other renders I have tried to incorporate the famous rear window kink.

Thanks :)

Ps. It would be awesome to have BMW 7 Series E38 Coupe + Audi A8 D2 Coupe + Mercedes S-Class Coupe (CL C140) in one garage. The last one is actuallu possible... and A8 Coupe exist but only one was built..

seems like a good place to post this.

The only 7-Series I didn't like. It's still a grotesque car to this day. I loved the modern interior though at the time, though idrive was utter garbage to use and it almost always failed and needed to be replaced.

Goodness how I hated that thing when it was introduced and all Bangle designs in general. If I remember correctly however, it outsold its predecessor by a healthy margin. When I saw it IRL for the first time, all I could think of was how much it looked like a Japanese designed car.

The E65/66 F/L did a good job of dealing with the front's design. Also it made the rear design a bit more mainstream, though I did like the funkiness of the pre-F/L rear.

As predictable as it would have been, I wish the designers had further evolved the E38's design for this gen.

If I can describe with one word the feeling of seeing it at the time (which is when it counts most) I would say "Exciting"

All brands (well, almost all) felt empowered when they saw the barrier of traditionalism fall, the same as between AVH who drew this car and Bangle brought down, from there, the designs were more daring and less repressed and each brand in its own way, began to explore a lot beyond.

Not in vain AVH continues to be the head of design of the group and Bangle is known as the most influential designer of that decade (recognized later).

Thanks, I don't think I have seen this video before, in my opinion it is the most beautiful of all the generations of the 7 series, in many ways, I further globalize the brand by positioning it.
Hopefully the new one rescue something from that exterior design aura, and apparently I think that will be the case.

Great, it's a Ford Scorpio or something like that.

A taste of how small but magnanimous design details can change everything.
Imagine everything that can happen under the modern and armored camouflage that the next 7 series prototypes carry.

The slow motion shots (7'12") at Nürburgring are so enjoyable

An automobile from one of my personal "favourite" BMW eras. The E30, E34 and E32 were an absolutely killer model selection.
An E30 325i was one of my dreamcars. For me as a dutch student unaffordable.
Dark blue metallic with dark blue velourslike interior ?

I owned a pair of E30s' back then, Mick. The first was a 1986 320i in a light metallic blue, the second was a 1989 318iS in white. I especially loved the second car-and to this very day, regret having sold it.

The E30 was a cult BMW in South Africa in the 80's and 90's as it was the cheapest and best looking BMW of the time for young executives to get their first blue and white propeller car. I liked the way it drove, but the only downside of the car was the cramped interior, especially back seat and the drivers seat tended to sag after a long time as the springs collapsed. We had a light blue 1986 318i AT (77kw with 3 speed auto) similar to below model but a 4dr

Sans the U.S. spec bumpers and in a light metallic blue, it would be identical to the 320i that I owned. Mine had a blue cloth interior.

And the one below is identical to the 318iS that succeeded the 320i:
