The best interior in The world?

TYC - there is a kind of metaphysical beauty in the absolute pragmatism of the design - it's not immediately apparent but the design is utterly directed by it's purpose. It's almost Darwinian.

Yeah the Enzo interior is nice too. I wouldn't exactly describe it as beatiful as one would the Carrera GT, but I'd use a word more like really "cool" for that kind of thing.

Err, what to say? Thanks for the lesson, Rob.

Ha - well yeah - I just re-read what I wrote - although I do agree with myself :D - I just realized that I can be quite intense sometimes - I think I need to take a break.

this is a pure design, a functional design - this a genuine car-lovers interior - it's about focusing on essentials.
One must beg to ask a question of whether a 600hp V12-engined stripped out carbon-filled speed-driven supercar is any more 'essential' than a luxury-focussed, pampering, 'beige leather/walnut dash' interior ;) It's all about what the respective companies are focussing on, and I'm thinking many would consider an interior that one actually has the ability to be comfortable in is pretty much an essential. But I get your point.

For me, I think Pagani hits the spot. I can understand it could be considered kitsch or tacky but I just think the quality and workmanship counters this - it just oozes quality and class. And while I totally respect the utilatarian approach (which I think, for example, BMW is employing) there's nothing like a bit of flagrant excess now and then :D

The Veyron just seems too plain and bulbous... and in the picture Yannis posted, no offence to him but the steering wheel looked plastic :usa7uh:

You make some excellent points there Germaniac and don't get me wrong - I'm no puritan - I like a bit of excess too - now and then - excess in moderation you might say ;) - I was just trying to put the Enzo in to context - actually I kind of rationalized it as I typed - spontaneously putting my thoughts down as they came to me.

I think that we can all agree that certain cars from Audi, Bentley, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, Aston-Martin all contend for the best interiors in luxury cars.

I think overall the VW Group of brands likely have the lead in design, fit and finish...whether it be the Bugatti, Audi, or Bentley.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the VW Pheaton, it has a hella nice interior.

I personally find any Audi to have about the best interiors around, especially the A8. I saw a A8 W12 with a special 20K Quattro GmBh package on it and man let me tell you that was the best interior I've ever seen on a "regular" production car.

BMW's don't compare anymore - remember IMO. They're well made, especially the new 3-Series, but they don't look as good as they used too.

Mercedes' best interiors can be found in the CLS or new S-Class, but I subtract a few points from the S for not being original.

As much as I like Maybach and Rolls interiors I think Bentley holds the edge because they're so old world looking, and I'm speaking of the Arnage only, not the newer "Bentleys".

I did in passing Merc1 - it really is a very smart car indeed.

This picture of the S8 that Audiholic posted is undeniably beautiful.

Yes it is. I can't wait to see the interior of the next generation Audis like the Nuvolari.

Now I got to find some pics.

I can only imagine what it would feel like to drive something like this.

Those light-coloured veneers are very attractive - they make a nice change from the usual dark American walnut veneers - is that oak or maple Merc1

I think the CLS is Mercedes' best interior. The CLS55 AMG:

The roadtest says that is Birds Eye Maple. Very nice indeed. The interior color is "Oatmeal".

Hmmm...well as I said before, I do like it but there are just things about it that look a bit flimsy to me - it just doesn't emanate quality to me - but I am notoriously hard to please of course :D

So how come not any picture of Bimmer interiors have been posted? :D

I have no clue, because they are stunning too:

Nice pic thread guys. Keep it up!!!!!!

Sorry, klier, but that wood trim is a big NO for an M car...

This is the interior of an M car:
