Well, here is my top:

1. Pheaton (A8 wannabe :) )
2. LS (great looking car)
3. Quattroporte (I just don't like the front that much)

You're right in a way Audiholic... My dad has always called the Phaeton the affordable A8, that's one of the reasons why he bought one.

And yes, I don't like the QP's front too. :)

For me there is no contest here, the a Quattroporte Sport GT stands head and shoulders above the rest on the desirability scale for me. Then there is a interesting 3-way between the LS, XJ and Phaeton. The Phaeton is as handsome and elegant, but understated car as you can get, and the interior is to die for. The Jaguar XJ, particularly the XJR and the XJ Super V8 are quite unique and I'm likely the only one that likes the facelift. Then there is the Lexus LS460L, the Japanese S-Class. It should come to no surprise to people here who know me, but the Bentley Flying Brick is dead last here for me for obvious reasons. So I think it would play out like this:

1. Quattroporte Sport GT
2. VW Phaeton
3. Jaguar XJ Super V8
4. Lexus LS460L
5. Bentley Flying Spur

Thanks for your opinion Marcus... Why do you think the Maserati is more desirable than any of the other cars in this comparison? I feel that the Jag feels just as special as the Maser, maybe just a little less.

I am not sure if the Quatrtoporte is good value for money given this classy comparison list. My choice - The Phaeton.

Well for starters its the look of the car, inside and out. It isn't like any of the other. Then there is the whole exotic nature of it, engine from Ferrari, a jillion leather and wood combinations, and the sheer exclusivity of it all. They are still a rare sight in the U.S. in most places, and this is after being on sale for more than 3 years now. I can see where one would think the Jaguar is a similar car for some of the same reasons I gave for the Maser, but the Jaguar just doesn't have the exclusivity or exotic-ness. If I can't have an S-Class or an A8, the Maser would be my choice. At least based on everything I know about it without having actually driven one. If the VW was still sold here it would be likely the next in line.

After seeing both the Quattroporte and the Phaeton in the last few days, I'm throughly convinced that they are my #1 and #2 choices respectively.
