V-Class/Vito The all-new electric Mercedes-Benz VLE

The Mercedes-Benz Vito/V-Class/Viano/EQV is a mid-sized light commercial vehicle (LCV) produced by Mercedes-Benz, available as a panel van, chassis cab, or multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), carrying cargo or up to eight passengers. In the Mercedes-Benz van lineup, it is positioned between the larger Sprinter and the smaller Citan.
Mercedes has done far more with the VLE visually than I expected them too. I'm impressed.

The interior shows the effort they are going to address criticisms.

I'll need to run through the rest of the material and wait for reviews to see if enough has been done in terms of ride and NVH to justify it being a VLE.

That is the most important part imo. Power and how it drives. The usual van ride and shuddering can’t be present. Refinement will sell it.

This I agree with. There is more commitment to differentiation of the body here than the there is with V-Class or V commercial vehicles than I thought there would be... and kudos to Mercedes, I think this is enough to land with their target demographic...

Excusing that face... lol, whatevs.

I like it as much as I can like a van. The transformation from concept to production wasn’t as painful as I expected. The seem to have thought of everything interior wise. The US market should get the VLE 400 as the base model imo. 268hp VLE 300 is gonna really struggle with people and cargo on board. I hope there is an I6 version. VLE 500 would actually be a complete product.

0-62 9.5 that’s not that bad.

Yea , it was not fast at all , but you don't really need it in a family car.

You excused Elon Musk on the basis that your Model X hadn't yet caught fire or crashed, and praised him on the basis that your Model X could beat anything else between traffic lights.... and now... excuses for Minivans because you don't really need performance in a family car.

Just.. peak hypocrisy.. every single level. Musk sycophants man... zero recall.

Yeah reminds me of that particular MB fanboy who in every thread has to mention BMW in some way. I can't quite recall his name right now, but I vividly remember the sheer hypocrisy on constant display.

Might remember who it was soon. It's on the tip of my tongue.

Oh wait. I remember! The hypocrisy has arrived here in this thread already! A theatre screen belongs in a Van now, not in a sedan.
It will of course be perfect when it inevitably arrives in the next gen S class.

A VLE500 ICE is a car I’d immediately order.

They'd offer a NA handbuilt V8 if it was released 20 years ago.

Real talk.

Initial thoughts:
-I am bit surprised the door tracks are visible and not hidden under the rear window's trim.
-The tall massive "grille" is a bit much.
-I am amused that there's an AMG trim.
-I am digging the velvet brown color.
-With ambient lighting as intense as it is in the AMG-trimmed version, is it really ambient?

Some misses for me though:
Why again with the black plastic around the door handle and seat control?

The bezels on the screens look horrible. Why not give it the electric GLC screen, instead of this CLA/GLB/GLA screen setup.
Also the steering wheel is very dated now.
Yes the black plastic being eliminated and new steering wheel are long overdue.

Does anyone know if the pics are the standard length or the LWB or a mix of both. I’m reading the USA is only getting the longer version.

If this doesn't get anything more than an I4 on the ICE side, then the VLS has to have an I6 or a possible V8. Question is will the Manufaktur catalog be available on the VLE or VLS?
