A DRIVER turned a McDonald's restaurant into a drive through when he crashed his mum's £60,000 Audi S6 through the window.

Mechanic Rolf Baumer, 19, was driving friends home after a night out in Muenchenstein, northern Switzerland.

He told police he dozed off as he sped towards a roundabout, sending the motor - now a write-off - crashing into the burger bar.

Fortunately, the McDonald’s branch had already closed for the night, as reported by Austrian Times.

"I'm just glad we're all alive after this," said the youngster. "I was going too fast and then I fell asleep."

Police confiscated his licence on spot.

"I hope I get it back soon,” he added. “I am a car mechanic and need my licence for test drives."

And he reckons he will be doing test drives.... not anymore.

I worked with a guy who had his license suspended for a while (too many speeding tickets) and he was still able to work. His mom had to drive him to and from work and he couldn't test drive the cars.

When I moved out here for my new job, due to a F*** up by the CT DMV. I did not have a license for a month. No test drives for me.

I have heard stories of people crashing cars, running over people... and they kept their job. Just because he crashed mommy's car doesn't mean he wont be able to crash someone elses car.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
