The B200 Turbo has horrible torque steer. I've driven the B200 Turbo with the Autotronic transmission and it's a nice car, but the handling is horrible compared to the A-Class - nothing sporty about the B-Class at all, even with the optional sports package.

A nice car for the small family though.

Go get a test drive! Would love to read a review of your own... :usa7uh:

Well my sister needs a car, and my dad and her have picked the following cars:

-BMW 1-Series 2-door
-Mercedes A-Class 2-door
-Opel Astra Coupe
-VW Golf 2-door

If she get's a Golf, I might have a chance to test one. The local VW dealership is offering a fully loaded Golf 1.6 (102-hp) for a really cheap sum (I think it's under 20,000 Euros). This is a new car and it's being offered as a Tageszulassung (registered-for-a-day) car and hence the price is so cheap. 102-hp seems a little underpowered though for such a car. :eusa_thin

I'm pressuring her also to look at the Audi A3, but she thinks the Golf "looks better" than the A3. :eek2:

Fully loaded A3 is better than any of above you listed, but if Audi doesn't come in question - a nice blue 120d would do the job.:D

Golf or 1er from that list, no doubt!

Have you taken a look at the 1.6FSI, I think it's good for 120hp.

Here's the thing. My dad likes the BMW 1-Series, my sister doesn't. She's in love with the VW Golf followed by the Opel Astra. She doesn't even like the A-Class. :D

Therefore she should go for Golf! Simple as that. It's her choice after all...:usa7uh: Just tell her not even to look at Opel.:D

My dad doesn't want to buy a car that will cost over 20,000 Euros. All the cars we're considering are used coupes except for the BMW 1-Series since no cheap coupes are currently on the used car market. He's willing to buy a 4-door 1-Series if my sister decides for it.

The VW dealership in my town is currently offering three VW Golf with a Tageszulassung: the 1.6, fully loaded and with the same rims as the 1.6 FSI you posted, black color. The other two are two TDI's which are out of the question since my sister won't be driving 15,000 km+ in one year to break even with the diesel tax. The 1.6 with 102-hp should be a decent car for her, but I think it's a little underpowered. The Golf has grown in size and weight too! In the 1970s and 1980s, so much hp would have been fine for the Golf, but these days...

She likes the Opel Astra Coupe, so do I and so does my dad. :D

Opel's aren't bad these days. The new ones are a far cry from the boring and poor quality cars Opel made in the 1990s. :usa7uh:

We also considered the Alfa Romeo 147, but we hear that Alfa's are unreliable, sadly.

There are hundreds of them in my town... And there are hundreds of them on the service parking lot....;)

Ah I see... Well no question about it then, Golf. :t-cheers:
